IN CREATING AN IDEAL SCHOOL ALL STAKEHOLDERS WILL BE IMPACTED BY IMPROVED ATTENDANCE. THIS WILL BE ACHIEVED WITH A 5% DECREASE IN 10TH GRADE TARDINESS TO SCHOOL, WHILE ADDRESSING THE SIPAAA PRIORITY TYPE CONNECTION.

Professional Capacity Initiatives:Survey students for realistic incentives to generate promptness to class
Communicate and collaborate with parent/guardians to ensure that students get to school on time
Hold monthly parent/guardian dinners to discuss what the parents and teachers as a team can do decrease tardies
Create parent committee to support school initiative to decrease tardies
Utilize counselors to generate ideas on interventions that are known to work in the school’s community to decrease tardies
Team leads can initiate research to identify new initiatives to address decreasing school tardies and hold PD for the staff
Work with school counselors to see which students may be in need of bus cards/passes
Bring in outside sources to work with staff during professional development days to generate ideas and discuss the urgency of less tardies, teacher awareness of possible reasons for tardies, class incentives to get students in the building on time
Teachers utilize one course team meeting (monthly) to brainstorming ideas to decreasing student tardies
Administration will analyze the data biweekly to share trends on tardiness with 10th grade staff

Parent Patrolto volunteer, visit the PTO office or sign-up on the PTO page of the school’s website
Administrative Sweeps the leadership team is committed to getting students out of the halls and into the classrooms on time and without disturbance
Peer Leadership the peer leadership organization is committed to creating student carpools and providing wake up calls to students who are chronically tardy to school due to over sleeping and transportation delays.
Student Council this organization is committed to giving away alarm clocks to all students with 3 or more late arrival or unexcused absences. Working with the attendance coordinator, other school youth groups, and the local chain stores Target, K-Mart, Wal-mart), this student organization will petition businesses, collect the alarm clocks, and distribute them in the 3rd week of school to those identified, and to all parents who arrive before 6pm for Open House and both Report Card Pick-Up days.
