Summiting Mount Everest is universally recognized as being the most daunting ‘rite-of-

passage’ for a mountaineer. It signifies his or her admission into an exclusive club of

exceptional men and women, with matchless courage, perseverance, endurance, strength of

will, and a marked ability to face and surmount the most formidable odds. And yet, for us,

incredible as this is, the essence of the achievement is not the climb alone. The intrinsic value

of this endeavour is that it is symbolic of the ‘freedom to explore’. To chase one’s dream. To

indulge one’s passion for a life less ordinary. To conquer one’s own personal Everest….

FREEDOM TO EXPLORE

In May of 2015, to provide tangible manifestation of this spirit, we will

set out on an incredible journey, entitled ‘The Everest Expedition 2015

: Freedom to Explore’. It is our avowed intent to unfurl our national flag

on the highest peak in the world to commemorate the 50 years that

have elapsed since the very first Indian expedition to summit Mount

Everest blazed its way to success, fame and glory, way back in 1965.

We welcome you to share the many exhilarating moments of this

voyage with us.

LIVING OUR DREAM

Our young but dynamic private-limited company, ‘Adventure-Pulse’, was launched in July 2010. In the four years

that have since elapsed we have been enthralled by the mesmerising song that Everest has been singing to us.

With as many as fourteen successful treks to the Everest Base Camp under our belt, we believe that we have

unmistakably demonstrated our intent and we are now ready to bring the Everest symphony to its culminating

crescendo.

Sauraj Jhingan

A qualified mountaineer from the prestigious Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, a

trained lifeguard from the Royal Life Saving Society, Australia, and a certified skydiver

of the Indian Parachuting Federation, Sauraj had begun to realise his passion for

climbing well before finishing his MBA from Symbiosis, Pune. He is credited with

being amongst the youngest Indians to climb Mera Peak in Nepal, in 2009. Like

Samir, Sauraj, too, grew up in a defence environment and developed an abiding love

for the outdoors. Having led, along with Samir, a number of groups to the Everest

Base Camp, summiting Mount Everest is part of a natural progression for Sauraj and

an appropriate culmination of his past several years of mountaineering.

PROFILE OF EXPERIENCE

Having partnered together through several climbing expeditions, dealing with sub zero temperatures &

extreme weather conditions, Sauraj and Samir have developed a powerful comradery, relying on synergy

and teamwork to not just reach the summit, but to also get back safely.

MERA PEAK South (6065 Mtrs), Central (6461 Mtrs) & North (6476 Mtrs) located in the Makalu –

Barun National Park, Nepal.

Mt. Friendship (5289 Mtrs), located in Himachal Pradesh.

Stok Kangri (6153 Mtrs), located in the Zanskar Range, Ladakh.

Island Peak (6189 Mtrs), located in Khumbu Valley, Nepal.

Mt Kilimanjaro ( 5895 Mtrs), located in Tanzania.

Mt Lebouche ( 6119 Mtrs), located in Khumbu Valley, Nepal.

Mt Nun ( 7135 Mtrs), located in Kargil, Jammu & Kashmir. ( coming season) .

Have led over 14 commercial trekking expeditions to the Everest Base Camp.

Samir Patham

‘Sam’ completed his MBA in Human Resources from SIMS, Pune, and went on to

work for Infosys, where he began to develop uniquely different training modules to

facilitate ‘Personality & Skill Development’ in an outdoor environment. A qualified

mountaineer from the prestigious Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Manali, with

wide experience in trekking and climbing, Sam brings with him, a palpable sense of

discipline inculcated from a childhood spent amongst officers and families of the

Indian Armed Forces. A strong and steady climber, he is credited with having led

over 14 trekking groups (comprising over 150 people) to the Everest Base Camp, in

addition to leading various other challenging high-altitude treks, including the

Annapurna circuit, Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), Stok Kangri and Mera Peak.

THE EXPEDITION COST!

On an average the cost to climb Mt Everest is between

INR 30 – 32 lacs per climber. Well here are some

While on top of Everest, I looked across the valley towards the great peak Makalu and mentally worked out a route

about how it could be climbed. It showed me that even though I was standing on top of the world, it wasn't the end

of everything. I was still looking beyond to other interesting challenges.
