EXHIBITION BY AIGARS BIKŠE – SAVAGE GAME01.-26.10. 11:00-18:00 (II-VI)Aigars Bikše about the exhibition: "I think that in this exhibition I look at the relation-ship with inevitable changes that awaits mankind on a constant basis. The sculptures depict various totemic animals and birds in contact with bombs, rockets and mines. Bombs and other combat equipment, in my opinion, symbolize the power of change that exists in any situation or structure from the moment of their creation. In a global world where superpowers sit on heaps of weapons that can annihilate humanity on this planet dozens of times over, the arms race is a Savage Game".Gallery Daugava, Ausekļa Street

LATVIAN ACADEMY OF ART’S CENTENARY EXHIBITION – ACADEMIA01.10.-17.11. 11:00-18:00 (II,III,V), 11:00-20:00 (IV), 12:00-17:00 (VI,VII)In modern terminology, the word "academic" sometimes takes on a heavier tone, so the intended format of the exhibition will be a way of viewing it in the original sense defined by Plato – a free, creative process of thinking. Inspired by this example, the exhibition intends to convey the spirit, place and atmosphere of the Latvian Academy of Art by creating an exhibition that would serve as a "living history". Art Academy students and teaching staff will participate in the exhibition each with their own vision of the specific department they represent. The main aim of the project is to show the direct connection of the new generation’s activities with global processes in the international art scene.National Museum of Art exhibition space "Arsenāls"
