STEPHEN MINISTRY | MIDDLE AGE
This season in life is full of change, sometimes crisis
and growth. We often have to deal with aging parents,
adult children that haven't fully grown up, as well as our
own mortality. If you are going through a difficult time
and need a sympathetic, trained listener to really listen
to what you are experiencing, we have someone who
can help. Our trained Stephen Ministers can come
alongside you to support you without giving you “pat
answers”. Give us a call if we can help.
Stephen Ministry Leaders:
Shawna Jamieson (204.837.5107; [email protected])
Don Lewis (204.668.6695)
Glenn Miller (204.989.6763; [email protected])
Lynn Stevens (204.888.0475; [email protected])
SUPPORT GROUPS
Support Groups are established around specific
needs or concerns in life. Our groups are led by
people who have experienced the same struggles
that you may be facing. We meet together in the
context of a confidential group, supported by a
study guide centered on biblical principles. Pre-
registration is required.
To learn more or to register, contact the church office
(204.989.6740; [email protected].)
PRAYER
To pray with someone...
On Sundays mornings a team of men and women
wearing red lanyards are available for prayer and
encouragement. We call this Touch Point. They are
safe individuals you can share concerns with, and
they will pray for your needs. To speak with one of
them, make your way to the front of the auditorium
at the end of the service or visit the Prayer Chapel.
To receive prayer support for your needs…
Submit your request through our online prayer
community. Follow the link on the home page of
the website: www.grantmemorial.ca.
Email your request to [email protected].
Telephone the church office (204.989.6740) and
provide your request(s).
Submit a request on the Welcome Card that is
made available on Sunday morning in the bulletin.
Group Prayer also takes place Sunday mornings at
8:30 a.m. in the Prayer Chapel. This is an opportunity
to pray for Grant Memorial and its mission, the
leadership, and church ministries.

Sunday Learning CommunitiesFIGHT (MEN’S STUDY) | JANUARY 11 - MARCH 1
Sundays, 9:00 a.m. | Facilitator: Rob Nickel
Cost: $10
Many men ignore the dangerous spiritual war
surrounding them. This eight-session study by Kenny
Luck can help men respond to the fight with boldness
and duty. This includes recognizing the deceptions
about doing true spiritual battle, realizing the roles
men play at the front lines, and rescuing the captives
from the enemy’s stronghold.
BURNING QUESTIONS | JANUARY 18 – FEBRUARY 22
Sundays, 9:00 a.m. | Facilitator: Charlie Lucking
Apologist Andy Bannister travels across three
countries, talking to people of all faiths (and none) in
search of clarity for the “big” questions such as:
Is there a God? If so… why is there evil and
suffering?
There are thousands of religions: which one is true?
Can we take the Bible seriously or is it just a myth?
Leadership Course WINNING WITH PEOPLE |JANUARY 18 – FEBRUARY 8
Sundays, 9:00 a.m. | Facilitator: Garry Nickel
Relationships are at the heart of every positive human
experience. John Maxwell, a master communicator

sophisticated leaders will pick up on skills that will
make them even better, and relational novices will
learn skills that can transform them into relational
dynamos.

YOUTH (GRADES 6-12) | SUNDAY MORNINGS
Sunday mornings has undergone a structural adjustment in JR and SR
High ministries. We’ve created a Sunday morning schedule that we
believe best serves the needs of our community. We are taking
advantage of the teaching in the main service, and allowing for youth
worship and discussion. This new schedule provides youth with
dedicated youth time, and integration into the greater church
congregation. Since both youth and parents will learn the same thing at
the same time, it’s our hope that this will lead to helpful family
discussions.

The Connect Cafe is an evening with friends – a time of worship, fellowship and fun that
occurs at various times throughout the year. It’s an opportunity to nurture your
relationships with other women, all in a comfortable atmosphere. Each Spring, we take
time out in an annual retreat. Maybe you enjoy reading! If so, the Pageturners Book
Club offers daytime and evening editions.

Staff News Pastor Glenn Miller | Pastoral Care Coordinator
I am thankful for each person that God has brought
to the Grant team. It is a genuine blessing to have
friends and strong partners in the kingdom work
taking place here. Pastor Glenn Miller is one of the
partners that fills a vital role of pastoral care. He has
served at Grant for eight years in a variety of roles.
Pastor Glenn will reduce his work time to half-time
beginning January 2015. He will continue to provide
pastoral care and lead the Stephen Ministry team as
the Pastoral Care Coordinator. Much of his time will
be spent off-site in visiting those in need, and his
office hours will be limited. He can be reached
through the office and his contact information will
remain the same.
Personally, I will miss his regular presence in the
office but I am thankful that he will continue on the
team and serve the people of Grant.
