The Democracy of Spencer, Warrick and Crawford counties, so far as we have been able to learn, have settled up- - on W. H. Blount, Esq., of Rockport, as the candidate for whom they will cast their votes for Prosecuting Attorney of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, at the en- - suing October election. This we pre- - sume will give general satisfaction to the other counties in the district. It is j altogether useless for the Democrats to j run more than one candidate for that office the result of which would be the ' election of the Republican candidate, as was the ease two years ago, in the elec-- 1 tion of Blythe Hynes, Esq. CITY EL Blount is properly placed upon the Democratic ticket. Rockport Demo- crat. Oh, ah, How's this? The Warrick Enquirer says the regular nominee of the Democratic party is Mr. Lewis C. Stinson, and that he was nominated by the Democratic Convention held in Spen. cer county. Now, we want to know if the Democrat is at its old game of bolt- ing regular nominations? The next thing we know the bolter will be abusing Mr. Stinson for an abolitionist This kind of work won't answer at all. Somebody will have to be read out of the party. We are satisfied Mr. Stinson won't tamely swallow that kind of snubbing, " Gen- eral satisfaction," indeed! Was ever such impudence known! Does Mr. Barkwell consent to that kind of caucus- ing? Just what " the present policy of the United States " is, we are not prepared to say, and the Convention would have hard work to tell. The policy might be said to be conflicting. The Southern portion of the States appear to have adopted a destructive policy, and the Northern portion a preservative policy. This Con- vention has been guilty of the very crime they have charged the Republi- cans with being guilty of. They have taken the Administration for, and speak of it as the country. J. SMITH GROCERIES. AT A Question of Identity. The New York Evening Post is the old question of identity that used to be illustrated by the case of a jack-knif- e, which first had a new blade mounted in the old handle and then a new handle affixed to the rejuvenated blade. The question now arises in reference to what calls itself the " Democratic party." The old doctrines of Democracy have been entirely replaced with new and opposite ones, and the old set of men who used to be known as Democrats have given way to a new lot who were once their Doliti- - House, between First and Second Streets, No. 25. For Prosecuting Attorney. The Democracy of Spencer, Warrick

and Crawford counties, so far as wehave been able to learn, have settled up- -

on W. H. Blount, Esq., of Rockport, asthe candidate for whom they will casttheir votes for Prosecuting Attorney ofthe Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, at the en- -suing October election. This we pre--

sume will give general satisfaction tothe other counties in the district. It is j

altogether useless for the Democrats to j

run more than one candidate for thatoffice the result of which would be the '

election of the Republican candidate, aswas the ease two years ago, in the elec-- 1

tion of Blythe Hynes, Esq.Let the Democracy of the district unite j

upon Mr. Blount, and ele ct him, by anoverwhelming majority; and onr wordfor it thev will never have cause to re- -

EL Blount is properly placed upon theDemocratic ticket. Rockport Demo-crat.

Oh, ah, How's this? The WarrickEnquirer says the regular nominee ofthe Democratic party is Mr. Lewis C.

Stinson, and that he was nominated bythe Democratic Convention held in Spen.cer county. Now, we want to know ifthe Democrat is at its old game of bolt-

ing regular nominations? The next thingwe know the bolter will be abusing Mr.Stinson for an abolitionist This kind of

work won't answer at all. Somebodywill have to be read out of the party. We are satisfied Mr. Stinson won't tamelyswallow that kind of snubbing, " Gen-eral satisfaction," indeed! Was eversuch impudence known! Does Mr.Barkwell consent to that kind of caucus-ing? Have Whittlesey & McBride beenconsulted? Was the fixing up of this"little affair " what brought Cal. A Question of Identity. The NewYork Evening Post is theold question of identity that used to beillustrated by the case of a jack-knif- e,

which first had a new blade mounted inthe old handle and then a new handleaffixed to the rejuvenated blade. Thequestion now arises in reference to whatcalls itself the " Democratic party."
