1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real

media products?

• Conventions used – - Masthead at the top of the page,- It has a price, barcode and date,- Main image in the center of the

page,- Menu strip down the sides of the

main image,- On contents the menu strip is in

chronological order apart from one,

• Challenged conventions – - Sell line is above the masthead,- Only one image on the cover,- Contents is basic,- Only has two images,- Contents advertises the

freebees,

2. How does your media product present particular social groups?

• 17 year old girl on the front cover,

- Appeals to a larger age range,

- Target audience can relate to her,

- She fits in with the target audience,

• Neutral colours,• Most magazine have a

chosen theme,- Companies stick to the

theme,- Needs something new and

exciting,

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

• Fits in with a lot of people,• Any company could distribute my

magazine,• Big distributing companies will want

to stick within there image,• I have chosen Bauer,- Wide range of different magazines, - Heat, Kerrang, Zoo,- My magazine would fit in nicely,• Want to put my magazine online,- So that they can read it anywhere,- On the train – on their phones,- Or someone at home surfing the

internet,- Will get a larger audience,

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

• Teenagers (15 - 18),• Main theme is pop &

rock,• Front cover I image is of a

17 year old girl,• Teenagers are magazine

more and more these days,

• My research showed that mostly teenagers from the age 15 – 18 would but my magazine,

5. How did you attract/ address your audience?

• I have freebies on the front cover and contents page,

• Main image in the middle of the front cover,

• Brief information on the front cover about what’s inside,

• Not a lot of writing,• Its cheap,• Teenage girl on the front

cover will attract people her age,

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

• Learnt how to use:- Photoshop,- In design,- Apple Mac computers,• Gained knowledge on using the

macs as I already have a personal one and know how to use them,

• Learnt a lot of new skills on photoshop,

• Used cameras to take the photos,

- I do photography so I already new the different camera angles to use when taking the photographs,

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression

from it to the full product?

• Unprofessional,• Rushed,• Didn't have enough

time,• Hard to work in groups,• Very random,• Uncompleted,• Didn’t start contents,• Difficult to work in

groups,- All had our own opinion,- Didn’t get things done,
