EVALUATION OF MY COLLEGE MAGAZINE.

WHICH ASPECTS OF MY WORK AM I PLEASED WITH AND WHY?

I really like the overall look of my magazine and I think that it would attract the audience that I was aiming it at.

I took into consideration the answers from my questionnaire, to create a product that I thought would

sell. The cover lines and stories that I have included would attract the right audience and make the magazine

enjoyable to read. I didn’t want to create a magazine that people did not want to buy because they thought it

was all about college. Therefore, I added in current musicians and trends that I knew would sell. I looked at a

lot of popular magazines and thought about why they sell so well and tried to use those techniques on my own magazine. I also think that the colours that I have used, make it look very inviting and fun. In conclusion, I think that my magazine is a success, taking into account, I had

never used InDesign or Photoshop beforehand.

WHICH ASPECTS OF MY WORK COULD I IMPROVE ON AND WHY?

I think that I could improve my work by spending more time getting to know the software that I used; InDesign and

Photoshop. Before I started this project, I had never used these programmes before so had no idea of how to use them. I could

have spent more time actually learning how to use them, to get the best out of the software to create a better quality

magazine. Another way in which I could have improved my magazine, is if kept the colour scheme throughout the front cover and the contents page. When analysing contents pages

in class, I realised that a lot of magazines keep a hint the same colours throughout the magazine. Although I kept a similar

green on both pages, I think that I could have also used a bit of red on the contents page, because that is what colour most readers like to see. Lastly, I feel as though my contents page could have been a lot neater, or more interesting. The final

layout I feel, is very basic and not very adventurous. Therefore, I could have changed the layout of my contents page to

improve my magazine.
