PHOTO EDITING...PHOTO EDITING...When editing photo’s on Photoshop I used a range of different tools…

I firstly edited the image using the adjustment options, adjusting colours to make sure the photograph wasn’t too dull or too bright.

I then used the lasso tool to select the person in the image and cut them away from the background. Then I

used the adjustment options to further blur the background. I then re-pasted the image of the person

onto the background and placed it exactly where it was previously.

I then made any minor changes to the images, such as using the blur tool to remove unwanted shadow or marks.

Guides –Guides – I learnt the usefulness of guides when it comes to the layout of a contents page and double page spread using them effectively to help the products look professional Image and Text boxes –Image and Text boxes – I learnt how to insert images and text

into quark using the ‘scale picture to box’ option and ‘scale box to picture’ option as well as how to create spacing using the ‘Run Around’ and how to create columns in the text. I also learnt how different tools such as Item Tool and Contents Tool can allow you to do different things with the boxes.

Camera…Camera…The photographs that are feature on my front cover and contents page were taken using a digital SLR camera and the images used on my double page spread were taken using a normal digital camera.

When using both cameras, I ensured that the flash was used only when needed to avoid any unnecessary shadows and brightness.

When using the SLR camera, I used two different lenses to give me a wider range of camera angles as one lens allowed me to zoom in further than the other.

When using the normal digital camera I made sure the mode was set correctly for the type of photograph I wanted to ensure I got the correct result.
