How did you attract/ address your audience?

Page 2: Evaluation Question 5

On the front cover I used a question for the name of my main sell-line, this is because it address the audience as well as makes them curious as to who Tasha is. Also the artist in the main image is leaning forward giving off the impression that she is reaching out for the audience and through her facial expression, a smile, the audience will attracted to her and to know who she is. Also the title is in blue making it stand out and become noticeable to the audience of the magazine. This also attracts the attention of the audience as most magazines use a red or white for the name of their magazine names.

On the contents page I used an orange red colour for the heading and a brown for the article names, this is because it follows the colour scheme and the genre of country music. I kept the article names on the right side of the page leaving the left for three images including the main double page spread; on Tasha, the covering artist; and the article names to go with. This is similar to other music magazine contents pages such as Q and Nash. I used this layout because it stands out to the audience and also makes the magazine unique due to the colour scheme. I chose to use blue for the page numbers because it matches the front cover headline and also creates a symbiotic link between the two pieces of work.

On the double page spread I used a simple traditional layout for an article, with three columns for text and also matched it with three images. There are two on top left page to introduce the article; which is a interview with Tasha, the covering artist. With the article name covering the bottom of both images. I used Nash’s double page spread on Maddie and Tae as inspiration, for my interview double page spread.

The colour scheme on the double page spread is green and orange following the earthly colours that Highway to Country has. This is attracting the audience because it shows where each question starts and the answers are, as the questions are in green and Tasha’s answers are written in an orange colour. The use of the orange shows the symbiotic link with the contents page and the use of the same artist image shows the link to the front cover. The article name is written in red to make it stand out and also show a link to the front cover which has ‘Exclusive’ also written in red.
