How did you use media technology's in the construction

and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Through the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages of my A2 Advanced Portfolio I was able to use and develop my skills in several

pieces of software and hardware.

Mind GeniusO Throughout the construction stage I worked

on a piece of software called Mind Genius, which enabled me to create a mind map style plan for my ideas generation. Although I have used this software briefly before, I had been in a group when doing so, so this time I was able to get a better understanding of the software and how to make the most out of what it provided. I feel that it really helped me in creating a detailed, well organised, structured plan.

PhotographyO In order to collect a range of images to be

used in my newspaper I used both my iPhone 5 and a Cannon digital camera. Although I have taken many pictures using my phone before, the cannon digital camera was a new piece of equipment to me. I believe using the camera improved my photography skills as I was able to play around with the zoom lens and the multiple settings, allowing me to end up with some strong, professional looking, quality images.

Survey MonkeyO In order to carry out and complete my

market research task I used Survey Monkey, a programme which I have never used before. The internet site allowed me to create a 10 question survey for free and automatically analysed my responses. This made carrying out quite a complex research task so much simpler and enabled me to review my results in a clear, organised graph.

PrezziO Prezzi is a piece of software that I am

relatively new to using. However, this is a piece of software I used during the planning and evaluation stage in order to help me present one of my research tasks and evaluation questions. The software allows you to present information in an orderly way that at the same time looks appealing.

Adobe PhotoshopO A large amount of my work for my

advanced portfolio was created using Photoshop. Although this is a piece of software I have previously used, I have found that from using it further, I have got a better understanding of how it works and can therefore get the maximum results from using it. I have used Photoshop to manipulate images, create my ancillary 1 and also to create my finished product.
