In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? • We Didn’t have a story that followed the video we made a visual skin to suit the music. • The only link between the lyrics and the visuals is the fact we used lip sync. • The music and the visuals are heavily linked through the editing moody lighting and dancing performed by Sean. • We made sure the video we made suited Sean's image e.g. the b/w colour scheme. • Close ups of Sean's face were used a lot to make him recognisable to the audience. • Their were no costume changes as we wanted to make sure Sean's image was constant

Sean takes a lot of his sartorial inspiration from Brian Molko the lead singer of Placebo. I watched some of their videos and took inspirations from photographs of the band.

Sean is similar to Brian Molko as he has black hair eye makeup and dresses in b/w.

We also took inspiration from Madonna's video “frozen”.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

• I had a black and white theme throughout my project, this was because I had looked at Sean's image and wanted to make it an integral part in my project.

• The font I used on my digipak and magazine advert was mostly typed out by me on a typewriter I took inspiration from his myspace and all of the fonts I found were too orderly.

• If the imagery from the digipak and the video were both showed to someone they would instantly link them together.

• I used strong simplistic images of Sean as I thought that would be most effective even though this contrasts his performance.

• There is a consistent house style throughout.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

• Youtube – used for viewing other artists videos in the planning stages and for uploading our finished video.

•Surveymonkey- used to collect audience feedback on video.

• Ning – used to compile research and order it.

• HD camcorder – used to film test footage and final video

• Adobe premier/ Photoshop/ after affects – used to edit music video and digipak.

•Slideshare- Used for converting powerpoint presentations.

•Tripod – used to keep the camera steady for test and final footage.

•Lighting - we used the lighting in the TV studio

• TV Studio – we recorded our footage manually and digitally and

•Bluescreen – we experimented with bluescreen in the test footage but didt use it for the final footage

•Pc’s/ macs – we used the mac to record the footage digitally and the pcs for editing

•Facebook (SNS) – we used face book for communicating with the artist but I found it was a bit impersonal and did not require an instantaneous answer.

•Mobile phones -

What I would do differently?

• I would do a shoot in a different location maybe the beach.

• I would have cut in some long exposures from different scenic locations.

• I would have managed my time better by maybe making a schedule for filming and meetings.

• Used blue screen in my final video.
