  • 1. Evaluation Part 4 and 5: Audience Identification and Appeal

2. Our Target Audience C1-B Socio Demographic this means that the social group that our target audience is meant for is Professional and office worked this is because they are the people that traditionally have to live with the constant battle of going through the same thing over and over again, this means that they are a prime target for films as these people are always looking for the opuntiionty to escape their lives. White-Male-European, this is because this ethnic group is the largest group of people on the earth that have the money to go and see movies on are regular basis, also most Males go to the pictures to go and watch thrillers rather than females this I because men like the mental challenge of going to watch these film as seen through hot fames base of such thrillers like Sherlock and Arrow. 13-18 year old whose going to college or coming out of college this is because people aged at 16 are more likely tot feel down in their job and want to go and watch a movie that they can sit and escape. 3. Images Related to Our Target Audience 4. Secondary Target Audience Alternatively, the secondary target audience of our product was fairly niche. The film being fairly interllectual and hard to follow we decided to aim our film at predominately men aged 23-35 who have just finished university degrees starting a family and would enjoy a mental challege. As a redult of the film being aimed at university graduates the socio demographic of the audience as likely to be A, B, C1. The top earners within society who are much more likely to be loking for entertainment or as mentioned earlier a mental challenge. I feel that our film wouldnt fit wihthe social group group of C2, D and E as the poepel from thises backgroundtend to be less educated than those from the A, B, C1 background with the type of film that they would prefer to watch wouldnt be film that requires a fair amount of mental challenge. From previous research it is clear tp see that thriller film are typically aimed as men ho have this idea that they can be cahllenged by films. 5. How we researched? Needed to find out how our ideas would go down with our target audience so we got together some people of this age to go through the ideas. 6. How we appealed to the target Audience We traied to appeal to our taeget audeicne by having lots of enigma codea s tjhey are what the audience would be used to seeing during a Thriller film and will also help for the audienc to remain in engageed thouhgout the film. We used an earthquake effect and mask to allow for the acharecter to apear different althiouhg the they were the same erson given the idea that the two were different personalties this is also shopwn in the diffent lighting that is shown through out the film with the diffrre tcharacters, the White Hood High Keyu lighitn as it connnote happines and Low Key lighting for the black jumped ones allowing for a more evil connotation. 7. The Pleasures that weofferedthe Audience Looking at the uses and gratifications theory people use media for a number of reasons to fulfill certain needs in the lives, our thriller uses entertainment as do many and all films, as that is the perhaps of a film to entertain. This in turn helps for the audienc to escape their lives which fits in perfectly with the our target audience as they will wan to escape their lives as they dont want to be in the job their doing or do the work they are set. This means that our audience will be more engaged in our sequence meaning that they will want to watch and pay attention more vigorously than normal.
