Zeta Psycho Bio Lab was born with the intent of complementing the common qualitative and quantitative techniques of data collection for the study of a product by extending them to the evaluation of objective physiological and psycho-behavioral parameters for the study of human-product interaction. These parameters vary from simple activation indicators as cardiac frequency to complex indicators such as the thermic variations of the body, motor activation to include emotional aspects as valued by rigorous validated techniques and licensed operators. By measuring the variations of parameters provided by the psycho-bio-feedback it is therefore possible to evaluate to which extent the emotional involvement of a consumer

The multi-media instruments provided by Zeta Psycho Bio Lab allow analyzing and evaluating the consumer preferences for any kind of product, including food, in order to satisfy at best the market needs. Zeta Psycho Bio Lab scientific application on research allows instead to carry out behavioral tests by evaluating as well interactions among different subjects.

Zeta Psycho Bio Lab is equipped by four high-resolution video-cameras synchronized for a 360° shot in an environment provided of unidirectional mirrors that allow a complete separation of the subject studied by the operator. The valued subject is normally exposed to a series of stimuli that depend on the needs of the consigner (from the product to the advertising film clips that present it) and it is monitored by a series of physiological-psychological and behavioral parameters including the subject emotional asset: Facial Action Codying System (FACS) (Ekman & Friesen,

2002) is used as a standard technique in the laboratory for the analysis of muscular facial movements by a specific video-filming of the subject face;

Self Assessment Manikin (SAM) (Hodes, Cook, & Lang, 1985) is used to provide a self-evaluation of the subject through his/her perceived emotional state;

The monitoring of cardiac frequency is carried out by a set of synchronized cardiac frequency meter that allows to evaluate the emotional state variations related to determined stimuli (e.g slides, films, odors, food, etc..)

The study of thermo variations performed by high sensibility thermo cameras that, by drawing the continuous variation of the body temperature, correlates the emotional variations to thermo pattern modifications according to the stimuli

The experimental setting is controlled, synchronized and managed by a proprietary software and it is implemented on set of 10 servers dedicated to data processing and data and images storage. Highly specialized Technical Personnel interfaces with the subjects to be interviewed in order to obtain searched data and information and statistic experts carry out the elaboration of the collected data.
