Film posterOn the next slide I compare my film poster to a film poster on the same topic of my film and also a film which I took a lot of influence to show whether I stuck to main media conventions as it was a low budget film similar to mine On the surface it is clear to see that most of what I used were taken in influence from this film poster and other film posters showing that this film poster conforms to media conventions.

Creating the magazine cover was the biggest challenge for me as many of the films I took inspiration from are low budget films which were highly unlikely to even have a magazine cover, most of the ideas for this cover were created by me so in the broadest terms this is a major challenge towards my whole media package and shows a lack of media conformities.

Heres my title for my film in an animated version.

Trailer - TITLEIn some ways it conforms to media conventions. Firstly dramas usually show the emotion of a character in it so to show that in the main title would be a through way of explaining my theme and as you can see from the video imported my title sequence has many different mediums to put in a dramatic impact. Firstly you see my character in a corner traumatized and then it fades into dying to be skinny. Soon after the to be skinny fades leaving dying on the screen. This is good as firstly the audience begins to wonder whether the film is actually called dying which is a unique selling point and makes my piece stand out which doesnt conform to media. Also it makes the audience feel particularly emotional as they wonder whether what

TRAILER - COSTUMEMy costume conforms to media conventions all the girls shown are wearing baggy hoodies or outfits not flattering or particularly fashionable. This is because if youre going through a hard time youre less likely to be worried about keeping up with fashion and would generally wear casual clothing. Also people who are suffering with anorexia are more likely to wear baggy clothing to hide their body.

Trailer - TITLEMy title DYING TO BE SKINNY helps to explain the whole story of my film. It shows the theme of anorexia before theyve even watched the film. This conforms to most dramas based on anorexia they almost all explain the theme of anorexia in the titles which you can see in the two film titles shown. I also used thin writing in the title to subtly link to the theme of anorexia which strongly conforms with conventions as all the titles shown look similar with thin writing and plain backgrounds.

TRAILER - LOCATIONFor many of the trailers I took influence on the problems start at home. Similar to where my trailer starts usually the problems arise in their bedroom. This is why I choose the beginning of my film to start with my character opening her eyes in her bedroom. For many teenagers their bedroom acts as an escape for them, a personal haven

TRAILER ACTRESS - MAINIn many ways my main character conforms to many media conventions being young between the ages of 18 25, very beautiful and having long hair she has many similarities to many of the girls who act in these types of films. However one difference she has to media conventions is that she has curly hair in ringlets and that she is mixed race rather than one race like the girls shown to the left. Overall she conforms to media conventions as dramas especially films along the theme of anorexia often have female actresses as main characters which is clear by the films of which Ive taken influence from such as trust, gimme shelter and starving in suburbia (thinspiration)

TRAILER ACTRESS - In many ways my character of the counsellor is acted by Daniella a mixed race girl. In some this is a media difference as she is clearly a lot younger than the women shown in the powerpoint. And her race is diverse being mixed race there is no examples from media trailers in which there is a mixed race counsellor/helper. However there are many similarities such as the gender of my character they are all women so in this way it conforms to media conventions. My actress conforms to media conventions as it is clear to see in dramas that there is often a counsellor therefore having her in aid of my film makes sure that is contains realistic aspects.

TRAILER - LOGOMy company logo matches similar nature logos by having the flower in the background and also as my rose is open and not closed similar to the rose logos showed. However in some ways there are many differences such as my logo being very dark, nature logos tend to have light colours and be quite bright.

TRAILER PRODUCTION COMPANY LOGOMy logo conforms to media conventions with popular production company logos as the dark colours used. All of the logos shown in dark colours with a bold main imagine in the centre such as the earth shown with universal. The main production company name goes across the middle in mine similar to all the other logos.

Here you can see my my end trailer credits and can see how it fits into typical media conventions. It is clear to see that I took most of my influence for this from the hunger games trailerHash tagsIn TheatresSocial media linksProduction company nameThese are all key features that typical end trailer credits should feature and especially as I made sure the colour scheme match my logo, film poster and magazine cover like the Hunger games did with their theme of fire.

TRAILER - VOICEOVERHunger games This voice over is similar to mine as at first you can hear my character speak but not see them (by using non-diegetic sound) however later on you can see the character speak which is useful as at first it posts enigma codes and the audience begin to question and to become more interested in the trailerGimme Shelter This voice over is also similar to mine as her overall storyline is told in a dramatic way. Also the piano music starts

Sisterhood of travelling pantsIn this trailer the names of the actresses come up with a clip of them laughing this is what I added into my film in this retrospect this aspect of my trailer conforms to media conventions of teen dramas although this may not be a feature regularly shown in most drama film trailers.

TRAILER - MAKEUP

The makeup I done and practiced on my character is clear to be used in similar films to show the characters depression and stress conforming to media conventions

TRAILER -ACTINGAll the films shown have crying characters going through an emotional time which is common in dramas especially teen drama showing my character crying conforms to media conventions

Starving in suburbiaTumblr / Blog was used to show how young people use these websites for influence on their image.Close ups there were a variety of them shown in my film.
