“If we are to persuade all students to do quality work, we must involve them deeply in the process of evaluating their own work as they do it! This is concurrent evaluation”.

Evaluation Objectives
• Recognize benefits
• Identify levels of evaluation
• Use the evaluation tool for this
institute
![Page 6: Evaluation FDI-2010](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022062709/55919e331a28abc00a8b457b/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)

Benefits
• Learner = Personal Achievement
• Trainer or
Developer =Revision needs

7
• Give a presentation to see if you can implement the things we have learned
• Let the other learners evaluate your presentation
• Answer questions about the concepts and principles we have studied

The aim of formative evaluation is to provide the basis for course improvement, to determine the need for modification and ultimately to lay the foundations for future planning.
It is a continuing process of critical reflection on experience leading to action.
Evaluation also improves the effectiveness and impact of the policy by learning what works and what does not.

Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Evaluation
1. Reactions
2. Learning
3. Transfer
4. Results
![Page 10: Evaluation FDI-2010](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022062709/55919e331a28abc00a8b457b/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
10
• All four levels have a purpose
• Levels 3 and 4 are completed after the training program is complete
• Level 1 evaluations can sometimes be inaccurate, since learners are usually happy at the end of a training program
![Page 11: Evaluation FDI-2010](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022062709/55919e331a28abc00a8b457b/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
11
What level would an evaluation of your presentations fit into?
![Page 12: Evaluation FDI-2010](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022062709/55919e331a28abc00a8b457b/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
12
Level Two. (It would be Level Three if the evaluation was done at an actual training session, not within the institute.)
![Page 13: Evaluation FDI-2010](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022062709/55919e331a28abc00a8b457b/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)

• Participants will complete an evaluation for each presentation they observe. These will be collected on site by the instructor
• Instructor will fill out a separate evaluation
• All evaluations will be sent to the Leadership Division at LCI Headquarters to be reviewed and consolidated
• After the Institute, each participant will receive a Summary Report including the faculty observations, all learner evaluations, any feedback or comments that might help them where opportunities for improvement exist, and a format for building a portfolio of Lions accomplishments

Course evaluation should be able to answer three questions:
1. Have the objectives of the program been realized?
2. Can the people who have been trained use the skills and knowledge presented?
3. How can the program be improved?

15
At the end of the lesson the learners will be able to:
• Recognize the benefits of evaluation
• Identify the four levels of evaluation and their usefulness
• Use the Lions Faculty Development Final Project Evaluation to provide feedback and to accept feedback from their peers
