I think that I am better at using Photoshop now compared to when I did the preliminary task. I feel that I have also understood magazines more, for example I am able to use conventions in a more effective way whilst still letting my magazine stand out from the rest. My preliminary task looks very basic in comparison to my final music piece. The use of colours has improved and gives a more professional look to my magazine. I did have a house style in my preliminary task, however it wasn’t as noticeable as it is in my final task. The colours were not as vibrant and contrasting. My preliminary task does have a masthead but it isn't as clear as the Niche masthead. The second cover is more conventional and does represent an R&B music magazine. The preliminary task doesn’t have a footer at the bottom, this makes the magazine seem longer and narrower, the aesthetics of my final edition are better.

By using Photoshop I have learnt that the photo is vital for the magazine to work. The clothing the model wears is also important and I took this into

account on my final product. The clothing was more specific in my final product and worked well with my colour scheme compared to the preliminary task.
