What I have learnt about technologies from the process of constructing

this product.

InDesignThis computer software was the programme I created my whole media product on.

Using this new programme meant I had to learn alternative ways to do things to ensure I was using the programme effectively.

PhotoshopThis computer programme was used to improve the images used throughout my media product by enabling me to develop and improve the images.

I used trial and error and repeatedly practiced on images to develop my skills so that I was able to use this programme effectively.

BloggerThis online website was used to publish the process of my media product and illustrate progress of my research, planning, developing, creating and evaluating.

I had never used this website before therefore I had to learn how to use it by watching tutorials, this helped me to create a blog that successfully reflected my work.

MAIN PROGRAMMES USED:

OTHER PROGRAMMES USED:

Windows Live Movie MakerThis computer software was the programme I used to create all of my videos on.

I had never used this programme therefore I used trial and error to learn how it worked, I was then able to add music and animations to make the video interesting.

YouTubeI used YouTube to convert videos of music into items I could download so that I could add the music to my videos.

I had never used this programme therefore I used trial and error to learn how it worked, I was then able to add music and animations to make the video interesting.

ClearRecordI used my IPhone 4S to download the ClearRecord app, this enabled me to record my voice and then import it onto my videos as voice over to explain the images in the video.

I had never used this app before however I followed the instructions and used it correctly.

OTHER PROGRAMMES USED:

PoppletThis online website allowed me to create a visual spider diagram which labelled the reasons for certain aspects of my work.

I had never used this website before however I followed the instructions and created a useful piece of work from it.

PadletThis online website allowed me to create a visual wall of text that described a process of my work and the outcomes of it.

I had never used this website before however I followed the instructions and created a useful piece of work from it.

VokiThis online website was used to create an avatar that acted as a voice over as it spoke a section of my evaluation.

This was quite confusing and didn’t work very well as some of the voices was hard to understand however it gave my evaluations another successful technology.

SlideShareThis online website was used to share my slideshow on blogger.

This was difficult to understand however I researched instructions and improved my knowledge.

TECHNOLOGY HARDWARE USED:

Nikon Coolpix L100This is the camera I used to take all of my photographs in all of my shoots.

I used this camera because I use this for my photography A Level therefore I knew how to use it to capture the best image possible. By using my previous knowledge in photography and using a familiar camera I was able to create an array of successful shots to use in my media product.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNT:Throughout the production of my media product I have used a mixture of software and websites that I was unfamiliar with, however, by using trial and error, repeating the process and watching tutorials I was able to overcome many barriers that could have hindered my work yet actually improved it once I knew what to do.

If you refer to my work on the planning, development and production of my;

- Front page-Contents page- Double page spread

This work illustrates the software, the tools and the techniques I used to improve the images, text and layout. This is shown through screen shots and analyses images. This will give an insight into what I have learnt and how I applied my new knowledge.

I learnt many new skills using these programmes which I was able to take forward throughout a lot of my work. I did struggle at first as it was a daunting process, however, I discovered the appropriate tools and techniques to use that I was unable to understand before. These tools include:- The ‘Cloning stamp’ on Photoshop – This tool enabled me to remove certain areas of the photos with the background areas. - The ‘layers’ on both Photoshop and InDesign to separate certain areas of work on the same page.- Blogger as the method of posting the process; I had never used Blogger before therefore I had to learn to understand it to use it successfully.
