Who Would Be the Target Audience For Your Product?

Evaluation – PART4 (target audience)• My magazine has a target

audience of young males and females interested in the alternative/punk rock genre.

• My magazine cover has the colours grey red white and blue.

• My magazine is a rock magazine the grey colour is dark and connotes death and mystery, these are conventions of the rock genre. The colour red signifies blood and rebellion these are also conventions of the punk rock genre.

Evaluation – PART4 (target audience)

• The target audience of my magazine is 13 to 29 males and females. The magazine appeals to a wide range of the target age as the rock genre is the second most popular. Also the price being low at £1.99 an issue it does not eliminate a wide amount of my target audience.

Person one

• Person one would be in my target audience he has tattoos and is wearing sunglasses which are both conventions of the rock genre.

• He is wearing dark clothes which have connotations of death which also conforms to the conventions of the rock genre which my magazine belongs to.

Person two

• Person two would be in my target market as she is wearing dark clothes which signifies mystery and sorrow which are conventions of the rock genre.

• She also has partially dyed hair in a shocking pink colour this signifies rebellion which is a convention of the rock genre

Person three

• Person three would be in my target audience because like the others she is wearing dark coloured clothes which are a genre convention of rock.

• She also has dyed hair which signifies rebellion, this is also a genre convention.

• To further reinforce this point she has a nose and lip piercing which connotes rebellion.

Person four

• Person four has long dyed black hair which is a convention of the rock genre.

• He has arm tattoos, his ear is pierced and he is only wearing black, all of these are conventions of the rock genre.

Person five

• Person five would be in my target audience because he has, tattoos which signify rebellion which is a genre convection. He has several lip and nose piercings which also connotes rebellion.

• He has long dyed black hair this conforms to my target genre audience as the main colour of the rock genre is black

Person six

• Person six would be in my target audience as she is wearing a black band t shirt, wearing merchandise of a chosen band is a convention of the rock genre as many artists will wear other bands merchandise when performing.

• This is a profile picture and you can see her bedroom wall it reinforces that she would be in my target audience as it has pictures and posters of many rock bands.

In general • In general all six people

conform to the overall genre conventions.

• All of the people fit in my age range from 13 to 30.

• All of the people have shown interest in the rock genre through social media (twitter)

• I believe that all of these people would be able to buy my magazine.
