My thoughts and reflection on the rough cut feedback

Page 2: Eval4

• I believe that the feedback was essential and it played a very important role in the success of our final video.

I definitely took on the feedback of ‘ the first establishing shot was very effective but was abit jerky and either needed to be fixed or taken out’

I always knew I wanted the video to be as realistic and professional as possible so having feedback that picked up on little things that I could not necessarily see myself was vital. In light of this comment, It took a lot of trial and error in the editing stage, which also included taking out the shot and replacing it with other establishing shots but it just did not have the same effect. In the end, we cut the clip shorter and slowed it down abit more which resolved the problem and made such a difference!

• Another feedback that was vital in the success with our final video was • ‘Add more jump cuts in the argument and variation of movement with the

artist’This comment allowed me to look at our music video from a different perspective and analysis the type of shot types used in both the argument scene and the studio with the artist. I then came to the conclusion that the argument scene had a lot of variation in terms of shot types as both the character and camera were moving simultaneously – However, the studio shots rarely had any variation of movement and was very static. To solve this problem, we added jump cuts into the argument scene so there was more perspective on what was going on from all different angles.
