How effective is the combination of your ancillary production tasks with the main production?
My poster shows ratings along the bottom from known sources, They relate to it as ‘a flesh eating
Horror’ this combines nicely with the fact that in my short there is a significant amount of flesh
Eating. There is also the slogan Ironstone, What's beneath the rubble?. Using a question as a slogan
Following the name of the short can be effective as it gets the audience of the promotional poster
Asking questions, building curiosity of the potential customer. This can also be effective when
Combined with social groups. Friends can discuss the production e.g..
Fred- So that ironstone looks odd, I wonder what its about.
Mick- I don’t know apparently something's under the rubble, I wonder what though?
Fred then goes to see the film so he can discuss what was under the rubble with Mick the following
Day.
And therefore building curiosity of the audience can sell the production.
Also included in my poster is a black and white photo of the setting, again not giving any information away
About the text itself but it achieves the effect of thriller quality.
Radio advert
My radio advert along side my poster also
include the slogan ‘what's beneath the rubble?’
It includes audio from the film which again does
not give too much away about the film.
The radio advert includes a date of release which
is Halloween this suggests that it must be a good
thriller, as its willing to compete with others that
are released on Halloween.
The combination of both my radio
advert and poster not giving too much
away. Which lets the audience build
there own interpretation of what the
production may actually be about. As
my poster shows the setting and my
radio advert gives away a short audio
clip of the film ‘what happened to all the
bodies then?’. Both of which are there
to stimulate conversation about product
and increase the audience.
