A BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Introduction to the Great Legal Systems

Introduction to the Great Legal Systems allows students even at the first year of study to learn

about the basic features of great legal systems such as the European-continental and Anglo-Saxon

system of law, but also other major legal systems (the legal systems of the Far East, the Islamic

law, the Hindu law and the law of India and the Jewish law and the law of Israel). The subject

today is becoming more important, since the importance of national boundaries is gradually being

lost and that people all over, primarily through the global economy and trade, learn about

different cultures and civilizations which have their own distinctive legal systems. Therefore, in

accordance with the practice of all modern law schools in the world, the students of the Faculty

of Law, at the University Mediterranean will be able to meet the specific major legal systems of

today.

Sociology

The aim of this course is to enable students to gain basic knowledge in sociology.

International Public Law

This course will enable students to gain the basic knowledge about the origin, development and

doctrines of International Public Law, to learn about the organizational structure of the UN and

the International Court of Justice, to understand the jurisdictions and state responsibility in

international law and to study the specific areas such as borders in international law, diplomatic

law and international treaty law, and to thoroughly investigate all relevant sources of public

international law.

Labor Law

This course will enable students to acquire adequate knowledge of labor law and its importance

in the legal system. Students will be provided with theoretical and normative explanations of

specific terms and labor law institutes in order to study the general principles of application and

interpretation of regulations of labor relations, employment, collective bargaining and social

insurance.

Page 37: EUROWEB UNIVERSITY MEDITERRANEAN PODGORICA ACDEMIC OFFER ... · EUROWEB – UNIVERSITY MEDITERRANEAN PODGORICA – ACDEMIC OFFER ... UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES - FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Subject

Inheritance Law

In this course students will master the fundamentals and principles of inheritance law.

Family Law

The main goal of this course is to learn about the fundamentals and principles of family law

through the mastering of basic family-related issues and domestic relations including: the nation

of marriage, family, support, custody.

Obligation Law

Obligation law allows students to master the fundamentals and principles of obligation law.

Besides theoretical knowledge in certain cases, they will be able to notice a problem, analyze it,

propose a way to solve the case and thus, based on acquired knowledge and skills, they will

dispose rationally of limited resources.

Civil Procedure

Studying this course aims to introduce students in a methodological way with all the relevant

institutions of civil procedure and to explain them. Thus the students will properly comprehend

the institutes of civil procedural law, master the process and institutions and build their position

on certain issues.

Roman Law

This course provides a basic introduction to Roman law as the basis of the whole tradition of

European continental legal system. Also, since Rome did not create major theories of state and

law, as was the case in Greece (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, etc..), but imposing a system of positive

(mostly private) law, the acquisition of knowledge in the field of Roman law will allow students

to easily master the whole matter of civil rights.

Civil and Substantive Law

Civil and Substantive Law enables students to master the fundamentals and principles of civil and

substantive law, particularly with as property, possessions and civil proceedings.

Human Rights

This course offers a deep knowledge of human rights in domestic and international law, the

dissemination of the individual human rights, procedure and means for their protection,

developing a culture of human rights, monitoring of human rights and the acquisition of

knowledge and skills in the process of their realization in practice.

Judicial Organizational Law

The course aims to gain in-depth knowledge of the organization of the judicial system in

Montenegro, in the narrow sense - the organization of courts, and in the broader sense - the

organization of the judicial institutions.

Constitutional Law

The Constitution is the supreme law of a state with which all other laws must comply.

Accordingly, it is of great importance for law students in the first year to explore the basic

principles of constitutional law, because the idea of the rule of law implies respect for the

principles of constitutionality and legality. Thus, the Constitution defines the relationship of
