EUROPEANNO ELEVATORS DAY26.04.2017
#1 OVERVIEWNo Elevators Day is a pan-European initiativе which is part of NowWeMOVE campaign. ISCA and its local partners invites citizens and various organisations, institutions and companies to seal off some of the elevators and escalators in their premises and to encourage their employees or colleagues to take the stairs.The event is voluntarily and some elevators and escalators will stay open for people with disabilities and medical conditions, and to those who simply do not want to take part in the event.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES• Promote the NowWeMOVE and
MOVE Week objectives• Gain visibility of own organization• Receive free PR coverage
locally and nationally• Involve local opinion leaders,
businesses and institutions as first step of further partnership
• Motivate people to be active with one simple change in their behavior – choosing stairs before elevators
#2 WHY YOU NEED TO BE PART OF IT?The European No Elevators Day is an initiative that will strongly and sustainably support the NowWeMOVE campaign on a large scale, with low costs and strong PR potential. In addition:

#4 HOW TO ORGANIZE NED ON NATIONAL LEVEL?
Raise awareness among your fellow citizens:• Plan and implement a PR media
campaign on a regional, national level. Organize press-conference*
• Plan and implement online social media promotion
• Plan own-media campaign – yoursand through your partners
channels
• Review and decide on the implementation
• Solicit your partners: own members, local governments, mayors, office building, hotels, NGO, Ministry of Health, Transportation…ect.
• Review the provided from ISCA RESOURCES - toolkits, marketing materials etc
• Provide information to your partners through national kick off meeting or vie mail, direct mail, skype meetings
#5 WHAT- CAN YOU DO…
• Work with partners to close one or more elevators in one or more buildings
• Organize public events in metro stations and hand out to people leaflets about the initiative
• Organize special events – outdoor workouts using stairs as an exercise tool
• Organize events with local members of parliament and other municipal officials
• Work with University organization and promote the initiative to them. Ask them to close elevators for the day
