2006 – 2010 Team leader and Chair of 15 Research project teams for “Pollution/Heavy Metals Cluster” of the Lake Victoria Research (VICRES) Initiative Projects managed by the Inter University Council of East Africa (IUCEA) and funded by SIDA/SAREC under the theme “Integrated risk assessment and management of pollutants in Lake Victoria Basin”. Coordinated, prepared and presented for the cluster 3 position papers during the VICRES’2007, VICRES’2008, and VICRES’2009 Annual Forums.

• Environmental lead pollution and food safety in the Lake Victoria Basin. (Makokha et al. 2006).

• The Investigation of Mercury (Hg) and Radioisotopes (U-38, K-40) Levels, and Assessment of their Socio-Economic impacts on Communities around selected wetlands in the Victoria basin: the case of Uganda and Kenya (Gor, et al., 2003).
