Key challenges

• Becomes the entire focus of IABC board (everything else becomes secondary priority)

• The two year cycle

• Changing team / location / venue

• Sponsors cannot renew over 2 years

• Lack of systems (database of participants, sponsors, admin and billing infrastructure) – everything needs to be created from scratch

Options 1: More of the same

• More of the same – the biggest challenge = energy drain

• Depends on who is on the board

• Might lead to select a chair purely based on Eurocomm capabilities

Page 12: Eurocomm beyond brussels

Option 2: A dedicated team

• Create separate Eurocomm team – lead to be dedicated to Eurocomm only

• Need professional support (preferably in agency) with part time or full time

• Create a business model for the conference with financial target

• Stabilize location

Page 13: Eurocomm beyond brussels

Option 3: Outsource

• Full outsourced model to a single agency for 3 years

• Revenue sharing model

• Set financial targets

Page 14: Eurocomm beyond brussels

Personal recommendation

• Try option 2 – dedicated team and staff

• Run annual conference in similar places (London/Brussels/Paris)

• Sell conference package

• Then explore outsourced model if this fails
