SpecializationThe Basic (Core Program) Course is offered in the morning. During these 4 lessons we focus on improving your general English skills (grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, writing and speaking). As there are many areas to be covered in a language, you can choose optional subjects in the after-noon such as Business English, Cambridge, TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, Academic Writing and Speaking, and General English (Fluency) to help you prepare for your future.

Eurocentres VancouverConveniently located in the heart of the business district, Eurocentres Vancouver is a fully-equipped modern facility only a few minutes away from an abundance of shops, restaurants and all major transit services. Our Vancouver facilities include large, bright classrooms, a Learning Centre, a Computer Lab, a rooftop courtyard and a student lounge equipped with additional computers, vending machines and a foosball table.

AccommodationsOur Accommodations Coordinator can arrange homestay or residence accommodations. With Vancouver’s excellent public transportation system, most students travel 20-40 minutes to get to school. Many of our host families are located on the beautiful North Shore, at the foot of the North Shore Mountains. All host families and residences are carefully inspected and continually monitored to ensure that you receive the highest quality accommodations.

Basic (Core Program) Course 20Each language course is based on the Basic (Core Program) Course of 20 morning lessons per week. Work and Study ProgramThis program helps students improve their English and gain valuable paid work experience. Students will have the oppor-tunity to both expand their language and career horizons and improve their chances in their home countries’ job markets. From coaching during the English portion of the course, to the orientation they receive before their work-study, we take care in placing students with a work-study that is right for them. Students enrolling in the Work & Study Program will have 12, 16, 24 or 32 weeks of English language training in our Specialized Intensive or Super-Intensive Course followed by a paid work experience of equal length. During the work portion of the program students will be placed in positions within the service industry (retail, restaurants, café, etc).Eurocentres Levels 2 - 10Vancouver / Toronto

English Plus Work Experience / InternshipThis program is the ideal formula for students to improve their linguistic ability while simultaneously gaining new professional work experience. Students taking the English Plus Work Experience / Internship program get a sense of the international business environment, get to know profes-sional colleagues from Canada, expand language and career horizons and improve chances in the job market. From resume writing to interview coaching to setting up interviews at the end of the language course, we take care in placing you with an internship that is right for you. Business English DiplomaThe Eurocentres Canada Business English Diploma is awarded to students who complete the Work and Study Program, the English Plus Work Experience Program or the Specialized Intensive or Super-Intensive Course with the Business English elective option for a minimum of 12 weeks.

University Success (Pathway) ProgramThe purpose of this program is to provide a solid foundation in English language skills, specializing in English for Academic Purposes. When you enroll in the Pathway Program, you will have 48, 36, 24 or 12 weeks of English language training in our Specialized Super-Intensive Course followed by your post-secondary program at one of our partner institutions.

During the English language training component of the program, you will learn the skills necessary for academic success by studying and practicing English as it is used in context with an emphasis on improving your vocabulary. There is a strong emphasis on building register, language repertoire and usage, while helping you to recognize and cor-rect your own mistakes. Daily speaking practice is given and written skills are developed systematically with an emphasis on academic writing.

Upon successful completion of your English course, you will meet the English language requirements at a variety of partner Canadian universities and colleges, eliminating the need for an institutional exam (i.e. IELTS, TOEFL, etc).

During the post-secondary portion of your program you will have the opportunity to study at one of our partner post-secondary institutions which include: Thompson River University, Vancouver Island University, Laurentian University, University of Prince Edward Island, Algonquin College, Seneca College and Sheridan College. Here you will beabletoworktowardsearningacertificate,undergraduatedegree or post-graduate degree in one of a variety of academic areas.

Holiday & Group ProgramsWinter Language HolidayThis program provides the opportunity to study English in our Basic (Core Program) Course while experiencing great Canadian winter activities. The program fees include full-board home stay and airport reception.

Ski / Snowboard in VancouverEnjoy one full-day and one half-day of skiing/snowboard-ing each week at one of British Columbia’s many ski resorts, including the world famous Whistler Mountain, venue of the 2010 Winter Olympic Alpine and Nordic events.Eurocentres Levels 1 - 10Vancouver / Ages 16+

Winter Activities in TorontoExperience three exciting afternoon activities each week showcasing Toronto as an active winter wonderland. Sample activities include: cross-country skiing, ice skating, indoor swimming, tobogganing, ice carving, bowling, visiting cultural events and much more.Eurocentres Levels 1 - 10Toronto / Ages 16+

Program Notes• Ski and Snowboard equipment and clothing is not

included in the program price. Students can either bring their own equipment or rent equipment in Vancouver. Ski and Snowboard equipment can be rented for approx-imately $30-45 per day, not including clothing.

• Students who are beginner skiers or snowboarders are required to take lessons. These will be arranged by the school, but the student is responsible for the costs.

Group ProgramsWe have extensive experience in creating programs to meet the special needs of particular groups. These programs can be custom designed and can vary in duration and content to suit each individual group. We can create youth groups, high school and university exchange programs, as well as programs for business people or executives. A full range of exciting activities and excursions, including some of Canada’s top sightseeing destinations (Niagara Falls, Whistler Resort, Victoria) can be included with any group program as well as a choice of accommodation types. These programs are designed to develop basic English skills with a practi-cal emphasis, as well as to develop cultural awareness. This enables participants to understand and appreciate all aspects of Canadian life while improving their language ability.

Other ServicesAccommodationsHomestay, residence and other accommodation options are offered through our unparalleled Accommodations Program. All host families and residences have been carefully inspected and are monitored on an on-going basis by our on-site Accommodations Coordinators to guarantee students a positive experience wherever they choose to stay.

Homestay provides students with private rooms, welcoming Canadian families, the option of full or half board and a policy of one student per language per home. (Adult and General Language Courses).

Residences are conveniently located close to the school with at least two options in each city.

Other Accommodation arrangements can also be made for hotels, bed & breakfasts or apartments upon request.

Airport TransfersTrained airport staff provide a warm welcome when you arrive at the Vancouver or Toronto airport. The airport staff will take care of you until you are safely introduced to your host family or checked into your residence. Airport drop-off is also available to ensure a comfortable and worry-free trip to the airport.

SocialOur Vancouver and Toronto schools both have exceptional Social Programs. Our Social Program gives you the chance to make new friends from all around the world.

Study Club, Self-Study, Conversation ClubStudy Club is a chance for students to work with their peers on homework or on the study materials freely available in the Learning Centre together with a teacher. Self-study is always encouraged and supported by Eurocentres staff, with recommendations provided in each student’s JET analysis and weekly homework assignments. Conversation Club is a free component of our Social Program and a fantastic op-portunity for students to practice their speaking and listening while engaging in exciting discussions about cur rent events and topics.

Computer LabWith computer labs in both of our downtown campuses, we offer the latest technology with all language abilities pre-loaded on our systems. CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) lessons form part of the curriculum and the com-puter lab is integrated into our self-study plans. Computers can also be used for homework and research projects, e-mail, as well as test preparation. Additional e-mail computers are also available in our student lounges. Wireless Internet is available throughout both Toronto and Vancouver campuses.

Learning CentreOur Learning Centres are quiet environments for students to improve their skills and enrich their cultural experiences. Each school has a range of multi-media materials that students can use and a lending library ideal for those who wish to study at home. The Learning Centre is also equipped with self-study worksheets (free for students) and other materials to help students enhance their studies.

CounsellingCounselling, including multi-lingual services, are available to help students with any aspect of their program and stay.

Application Procedures & Policies / Fees / Refund Policy / Calendar of CoursesAll information related to your application to study at a Eurocentres Canada school can be found on our website at:www.languagecanada.com.

Medical InsuranceAll students must have adequate medical coverage for their study period. Medical insurance can be purchased from the school at the time of registration or upon arrival.

Transfer Between SchoolsWithsufficientnotice,studentscantransferbetweentheEurocentres Canada schools. Courses will be transferred on a pro-rata basis for an equivalent course. Students wishing to transfer between Vancouver and Toronto schools must provide 4 weeks notice prior to transfer. Transfers are subject to course availability and an administrative change fee. If homestay is also needed, students will be required to pay an additional accommodation placement fee.

Courses AbroadEurocentres Canada offers ‘language courses abroad’ in 7 different languages at 13 Eurocentres locations worldwide: Switzerland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Russia, Japan and China.
