From 1425 Białołęka was a village. It was owned by the Gołyński family. And it was approximately 315ha big.
In 1656 during the battle with Sweden forces it was completely burnt down.
In 1661, after its rebuilding, there were 38 houses, and in 1789 there were 63 houses there.
In 1938 in Białołęka there were about 600 inhabitants.
In 1951 Białołęka became a part of Warsaw.
In 1994 it became a commune of Warsaw. Białołęka has big autonomy and a lot of money from taxes could be used on its development.
In 2004 Białołęka became a district of Warsaw. Money had to be paid to the city so Białołęka’s development was inhibited
