Road traffic deaths represent 11% of road traffic deathsworldwide. 154.997 muertes in the Americas.
The mortality rate from road traffic crashes remains practicallythe same (15.9 per 100,000 population in 2013 vs. 15.6 in2016). →
Road traffic deaths are the second-leading cause of death foryoung adults aged 15-29 years
The burden of road traffic deaths is higher in middle-incomecountries than high-income countries.

Conclusions
There is a growing burden of road traffic fatalities in 15 countries in theRegion.
→Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia.
Motorcyclists, pedestrians, and cyclist represent the 55% of all road trafficdeaths in the Caribbean.
Data on road traffic injuries mortality and morbidity deserves moreattention and more work to improve quality.
It is essential to focus on improving effectiveness, coordination role andbudget of lead agency
Countries need to improve access to emergency care, hospital andrehabilitation services – better integration with health systems.
