Euclid Creek Watershed Public Involvement Public Education (PIPE) Program 2016 Event Series - PIPE Committee Work Plan (Annual Update) Education Theme for 2016 Lake Erie Starts Here Everyone lives in a watershed, and in Cuyahoga County everyone lives in the Lake Erie watershed. Because of this watershed connection, our activities at home, at school at work and throughout the community directly impact not only Lake Erie, but also our local waterways. Outreach and involvement activities will identify this connection and provide recommendations and opportunities to make a positive watershed impact to various target audiences. A Day in the Life of Euclid Creek event – July 16, 9:00am-2:30pm – Wildwood Park, Euclid Creek Reservation – Stop 3 of the day – electrofish shocking demonstration and hike around wetland restoration project; then discussed results from day over pizza

o Event held - 121 participants-of those 84 from community (30 of those children), 19 volunteers, 18 staff.

Stream Naming Project – Euclid Creek Watershed resident, Charles Sawyer, to research and propose stream names for unnamed streams in Euclid Creek. Mr. Sawyer and Ms. Posius will coordinate on how to outreach on effort to streamside property owners, Watershed Council communities, etc. Ongoing initiative.

Stormwater Control Measure (formerly known as BMP) Trainings will be offered by CSWCD staff to PIPE communities that have features in

community (detention/retention basins, bioretention, permeable pavement, green roofs…) to train those maintaining features
