Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe 25th November 2018

THIS WEEK IN THE PARISH

A few words from our Pastor:-

We made our Appeal goal! Of course, if you have not made your donation, I encourage you to do so. This is because of how the Diocese set up the appeal itself. In most Canadian Dioceses, %100 of the appeal goes to the Diocese. In our appeal, the Parish receives %20 of the gifts up to our goal and %80 after we have reached it. This means that we keep more of our appeal funds now than we would from regular collections as we normally pay a %22 assessment (tax). You may be wondering why the Diocese (Bishop's office) taxes the Parishes. It is to cover very important services that local Parishes simply cannot do on their own. This is especially true today as finance laws, building codes, labour laws (not to mention pastoral situations) etc. have become so complex that the workload has significantly grown over the last 10 years. Over the next few weeks, I will explain some of the governance structures of the Church in the present day. You may be amazed, as I was, to discover how much we accomplish with so few resources.

Please pray for:-

Those who are ill.

Clovis Amando, Daphne Bowles, Arnie Cavanagh, Ryan Chester, Marnie Essery, Edmee Kearney, Susie Konrath, Ursula Lowe, Marguerite Pigeau, Bruno & Franca Rinaldo, and Jean Winter.

Those who are deceased.

Sieg Bojko, Antonio Calgaro, Trudy Card, Larry Dietrich, Georgi Guterres, Kerry Laramee, Leo LeBlanc, Greg Morrison, Ben Palaganas, and deceased members of the Reda family.
