    Visit to a value chain activity at Chekrhai, Fatehpur

    Under EU-Peace Project

    The EU delegates

    also visited to meetthe BIGs, trained

    and empowered

    under Peace porject

    to value add their

    products according

    to markets demands

    followed by testing

    their value added

    products in different

    potential markets.

    The BIGs briefed the

    delegates, in detail.

    resource, existing conventional

    practices and constraints associated

    with low income of the value chain

    members

    They further elaborated on the

    trainings received (technical &

    Business), technology given and

    exposure availed by BIGs members

    within both the Value chains

    The focal persons further explained the increase in revenues achieved due to value addition in products, use

    of standard technology and practices (grading & packing & packaging) and linkages with potential market and

    these all in collective manners

    PO value chain and the regional value chain officer pointed out the approach adopted , the stakeholders

    involved and elaborated on change in local business in the context of pre and project scenario.

    charts, photographs, product

    presentation and technology

    used in at different steps of

    the pre and post productionlevel in the value chain by

    BIGs

    The safety measures during

    harvesting were explained

    and especially the safety

    buit introduced was

    demonstrated and discussed

    The delegates appreciated the successful efforts after meeting the with

    BIGs who got skills and training about their produce under the EU-

    Peace project.

    Total Extra revenue obtained from the drying process by BIGs: 200 Kgs x Rs 440 = Rs 88000

    If only 20 % o f the total resource (Red Persimmon) is dried and marketed, the extra revenue gain

    will be : 73 Millions(projected Impact)

    Markets targeted during sale of dried persimmon are Super markets of Islamabad

    The Extra revenue was made due to PEACE interventions of Value addition, qualitydevelopment, Business development and market linkages
