PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hi Everyone,
Spring is here! I hope everyone is enjoying the longer days so they can spend more time on their horses!
As in previous years, the Corral has coordinated and hosted a number of rides and events in 2018.
Thank you to the volunteers that have made those rides/events possible. Our first C22 weekend ride of
the year at Mojave Narrows was a success. Although we had some rain, it didn't keep us from saddling
up to ride and enjoy Billie's delicious stew! Thank you Billie McGuire for hosting a fabulous Mulligan
Stew ride! We were able to secure a few extra days at Madrone camp in Morro Bay so we have it
reserved August 17th-August 27th.
May 4-6th is our camp out at the Roy Rogers Ranch in Oro Grande. Due to multiple events at the ranch,
this event has been changed from an ETI event to an open event (flyer attached).
The Spring Ride is June 3-9 in Lockwood Valley (Frazier Park). Please get your reservations in now to
Kelli Land if you would like to attend (flyer attached).
The ETI Convention is coming up June 21st-24th. Volunteers are needed. If you have time to volunteer,
please let me know.
Please mark your calendar for these exciting rides coming up in July and August:
July 8th is the Moonlight Ride / Lakeview Terrace led by Tiffanie Bailey.
July 22nd is the Inspiration Point Ride / Wrightwood led by Susan Jackson and Billie McGuire.
August 21-28th is our trip to Morro Bay with Corral 12. Please get your reservations in...we are now
taking reservations! Please RSVP to Patty Hug.

2018 Mulligan Stew Ride
It was a damp day and night but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the 12 riders on the Mulligan
Stew campout at Mojave Narrows. It was raining upon arrival but by ride time, it backed off to
barely a drizzle. Trail boss, Billie McGuire, led a 3-hour ride through the wash with several
water crossings. We discovered one horse, belonging to yours truly, was not a fan of water so
a little training is in his immediate future. Billie McGuire made a yummy Mulligan Stew that
everyone contributed vegetables to and dinner and evening beverages were enjoyed under the
popups while it rained through the night. - by Corey Hallmark

2018 Corral 22 Day at the Races Day at the Races
This year’s “Day at the Races” was another fun-filled day for all 22 attendees, many of
whom repeatedly come back each year. Regulars Debbie and Jeff Humphreys came all the
way from Bear Valley Springs! This year we dined in the Turf Terrace where we were
served a delicious 3-course meal of tortilla soup, grilled skirt steak with chimichurri and tres
leches cake. The big winner of the day was June Alexander (Kat’s co-worker) from Ventura
who won $66 on a $4 bet! The 1st race was sponsored by Corral 22. Tiffanie Bailey and
Antoinette Dohmen represented the Corral in the winner’s circle. To those who missed it,
please try to join in the fun next year. We look forward to doing it again in 2019!

2018 John Richardson Memorial Ride
On Sunday April 15, we had our fourth
annual John Richardson Memorial Ride at
Vasquez Rocks located in AguaDulce.
We had fabulous weather!
Fourteen Riders headed out for the
breathtaking views of the Rocks!
We were joined by riders from Corrals 12,
86 and 138 as well.
On the trail we were greeted by a black
rattlesnake which decided to mosey into
the bushes.
After about a two hour ride, we headed to
Maria Bonitas Restaurant, which is only a
couple of miles from the staging area.
Around fifteen more non-rider joined us
for a delicious lunch and drinks of choice.
