    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    Special Charge Conferencewill take place TODAY, Sunday,May 18that 12:15 p.m.for a member vote on Scott Kuhnle as acandidate for Ordained Ministry. Pastor Kimes will serve as thePresiding Elder.

    Our church will be having a potluck lunch honoring Pastor Kimes onSunday, June 8, after the 11:00 service. We are askingeveryone to bring one of the following items as a side dish forbarbeque sandwiches: macaroni and cheese (allergy alertFaith isallergic to parmesan cheese), baked beans, fruit salad, or tossedsalad.     Congratulations to Rev. Sharmune Burgess for the announcement of

    her appointment to the Richmond United Methodist Churcheffective July 1, 2014. We are proud of her appointment andare grateful for her many years of service to our church asadministrator, volunteer Stephen Minister and most recently asassociate pastor. She will be missed by all. We will becelebrating her service among us on June 22ndafter the11am worship.

    There will be no Childrens Sunday School on Sunday, May25thdue to the Memorial Day holiday and Sunday, June 1stdue to the presentation of The Story: The Musical.

    Request for Family Promise from Clarice WilkensI am resigning as coordinator of Family Promise for our church. Iam looking for a new coordinator or co-coordinators to take over.It is such a wonderful program, and I hope someone will step up tocontinue working with this great program. I have kept detailednotes and would walk you through it when we host in August.

    Stephen Ministry

    I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made itgrow. -1 Corinthians 3:6

    God works through Stephen Ministers to plant seeds ofhope and healing in persons whose lives seem barren and forlornbecause of some crisis or tragedy. Stephen Ministry training will equipyou to water the seed, and God will bring forth new life and renewedfaith in both your care receiver and in you as a Stephen Minister.

    Pray for ESUMC with Rev. Paul CrikelairRev. Paul Crikelair, Pastor of Cherry Valley UMC has set aside Friday,May 23rdto pray with members of the UMC churches in our area. Hewill travel church to church and meet with members of eachcongregation to lift their church to the Lord in prayer. Rev. Crikelairwill be at ESUMC from 3-4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23rd. Please joinyour brothers and sisters in Christ as we seek His will for ESUMC.

    Next Youth Ministry FundraiserThe youth will hold their annual Car Washon Saturday, May 31st,9:00am12:30pm. Youth can work to earn an hourly rate that willbe applied towards their summer mission trips and/or retreats.     End of Year JAM CelebrationOn Thursday, June 12thfrom 6:307:30pm, parents, youth and

    volunteers are all welcome to attend the end-of-year JAM programcelebration. We will have food, fellowship, and a time of youth andleader testimonies. Come on out to help us celebrate all that theJAM Afterschool Program has offered this past year!

    Foundations Christian PreschoolFoundations Christian Preschool, located in the lower level of thechurch, is currently accepting registrations for the 2014-15 schoolyear.     Vacation Bible SchoolAre you sick of winter? Then get away to a tropical island -Son Treasure Island! Vacation Bible School will take place July7th-11th from 9:00 am to Noon. Mark your calendar and makea reservation to visit Son Treasure Island in July.
