    Commitment Sunday October 26 th If you havent filled out your commitment cards yet please do so(copies have been placed in the bulletin) and get your leaf on thetree as we prepare to celebrate Commitment Sunday next week.

    Reserved Parking SpacesPlease remember not to park in the spaces on the side of the officebuilding that are Reserved. These spaces are paid for by localbusinesses. If you park in a reserved spot, you may be towed if theperson renting the space reports you or get a ticket.

    College Care PackagesIt's that time of year again; time for our church family to reach outto our college students with a small token of remembrance and alittle stress reliever as finals approach. Throughout the month ofOctober, we will have a collection box for your donations inOberholtzer hall. Please call church office ASAP to make sure wehave your college student's current mailing address (Include thename of the school and the year they are in). You can call ortext Sue Randall (the parent of an appreciative college student) withany suggestions or questions 570-460-7052.

    The New Mens' Bible Study started on Saturday, October 11that 8 am in the conference room of the office building. The groupwill be studying Disciplines of a Godly Man. Please contact JohnHollister for more information at [email protected]

    OPPORTUNITIES

    Mission Team Meeting The Mission Team will meet to discuss upcoming events at 8:30 amon Sunday, Oct 26th in the Conference Room. Everyone is welcome!

    Youth/Adult Mission Trip We are planning a combined Youth/Adult mission trip to OceanCounty, NJ on Friday and Saturday ,November 21st and 22 nd forongoing Super Storm Sandy recovery work. We are limited to 15people and are hoping for an equal mix of youth and adults. Youthmust be 14 years old or older. Adults can choose to work on Fridayand/or Saturday; youth will travel after school on Friday and workon Saturday. For more information please contact Pat Braun byNovember 1 st .

    Volunteers needed for Breakfast with St. Nicholas The annual Breakfast with Santa is being changed to Breakfast withSt. Nicholas. We are bringing more of a focus on the birth of Jesusto the event, which will take place on Saturday, Dec 13 from 9 to 12am. Children can visit with St. Nicholas, make crafts, play gamesand hear stories. Breakfast will be served, and the UMW will holdtheir gift and bake sales. Vendors have been eliminated.Many volunteers are needed, especially kitchen and decoratingleads! Please contact Pat Braun at home (570-424-5481) or cell(570-269-5043).

    Fall Harvest Celebration:

    When: Saturday, November 8, 2014 Where: ESUMC Fellowship Hall Time: 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m.

    Join us for an evening of fun and fellowship for the whole family.There will be bobbing for apples, a donut dangle, and a familypumpkin decorating contest. If you love to cook/bake we would

    love you to enter our chili cook off which will be judged by allattendees and/or an apple baking contest which will be judged by apanel of judges. Sign up today in Fellowship Hall.

    Upcoming Youth Ministry Trips: Jr. High Mission Weekend to Philadelphia :

    Friday October 24 Sunday, October 26 th Youth Rally to Ocean City, MD:

    Friday, January 9 th Sunday, January 11, 2015.

    Youth Praise Band will be meeting to practice this Sunday, from5:30 6:30 pm in the youth room.

    Youth Worship meets every Sunday evening . Youth will begathering to fellowship, worship, and participate in biblicalteachings from 7:00 8:30 pm every Sunday night.

    Mark Your Calendars for a Family Movie Night on SundayNovember 2 nd , from 6:00 8:00 pm. The movie will be Gods NotDead. This is a church movie night all ages and all people arewelcome!

    Snack and Drink Donations Needed: The JAM Jr. High Afterschool Program is always in need of snack and drinkdonations. If you feel led to donate any items, or for moreinformation, please contact Jenn Dunne at [email protected]

    Childrens Ministry

    Workshop Rotation News

    New Workshop story began last week with Daniel in the

    Lion's Den . This workshop will run from October 12th-November 9th . Anyone interested in volunteering to teachor be an aide in future workshops should [email protected] . We can still use you if you are willingto help out!

    Workshop Rotation Students will be singing today at thebeginning of the 11 a.m. service. We need all students thatattended the Noah workshop rotation to share their voiceswith the congregation. We will keep the students in theclassrooms and bring them up to the 11:00 am servicewhere they will sit in the front pew. Students should bepicked up by their parents in Oberholtzer Hall after theyhave performed. In order to prepare for their singing debutwe will practice today from 9:30-10:00 am in the WorkshopRotation Open area. Therefore, kids will not go to churchwith their parents today. Please plan on coming toWorkshop Rotation at 9:30 am to practice.

    Mission Mania Mission Mania (formerly known as Children's Church) is looking for

    volunteers to help out with this children's ministry during the 11a.m. service. Email Pam O'Brien ([email protected] ) if you canhelp out with this ministry or you would like more information.

    Acolytes Acolytes are needed for the 11 a.m. service. If you are in 2nd-5thgrades and would be interested in serving during the 11 a.m.service, please email Mrs. O'Brien [email protected] .

    Christmas Pageant Rehearsals Rehearsals for the Pageant will start on October 26th from 10:45-11:15 am for students in Kindergarten- 12th grade.

    Community Event:

    Be a host to PA college singers!!

    The ESU Music Department is looking for community members tohost student singers from other Pennsylvania colleges during thePennsylvania Collegiate Choral Festival to be held at ESU onThursday, October 30 thru Saturday, November 1.

    The singers would require lodging after 9:00 pm Thursdayand Friday nights, October 30 & 31, as well as breakfastthe following morning. They would need to be broughtback to ESU by 8:45 am on Friday and Saturday. You mayhost just one singer, or as many as you can - all efforts areappreciated!!

    The PA Collegiate Choral Festival is held at a different Pennsylvaniacollege each year, providing students the opportunity to rehearsewith a renowned guest conductor, culminating in an impressiveconcert performance on Saturday afternoon. Each hosting collegerelies on the generosity of its community members to make thiswonderful opportunity affordable to the students.
