    NORMAS DE EXAME

    DEVE LER ATENTAMENTE O SEGUINTE:

    1. Verifique se o exemplar do exame est completo, isto , se tem 6 pginas e se termina coma palavra FIM. Se o seu exemplar apresentar alguma anomalia, dirija-se ao professorvigilante, a fim de resolver o problema.

    2. O exame dever ser escrito a tinta azul ou preta. Tudo o que for escrito a lpis no ser alvode classificao. Tambm no sero alvo de classificao respostas, ou partes de respostasescritas fora dos espaos destinados a esse efeito.

    3. No escreva o seu nome a no ser no cabealho, nem rubrique qualquer das folhas.4. Exclui-se, para efeitos de classificao, toda e qualquer resposta apresentada em folhas de

    rascunho. Em questes em que se especifique um nmero mximo de palavras para aresposta, excluem-se tambm para efeitos de classificao quaisquer palavras que excedamesse nmero.

    5. O exame tem a durao de 2 horas.6.

    Organizao e pontuao da prova:

    A prova avaliada em 20 valores (200 pontos). A prova composta por um Texto e trsgrupos de questes.

    O primeiro grupo, distribudo pelas questes 1, 2, e 3, constitudo por um total de dozeitens todos destinados a testar a Reading Comprehension do texto, e o conhecimento do

    respectivo lxico. O segundo e terceiro grupos testam ambos as capacidades de produoescrita dos candidatos, na lngua-alvo. O segundo grupo, distribudo pelas questes 1, 2 e 3,com um total de oito itens, testa, cumulativamente com a capacidade de produo escrita, oconhecimento de noes bsicas da gramtica da lngua inglesa. O terceiro grupo, deresposta mais livre, constitudo por uma breve composio sobre um, de dois temas

    escolha.

    Os 200 pontos de cotao total do exame esto distribudos do seguinte modo:

    The importance of studying a language

    Language is unique to humans. Without language, we would not be able to communicate, to

    understand, nor interpret our world.

    An exciting aspect to foreign language study is that it allows for cross-cultural

    communication among people of diverse cultures.

    In addition, the ability to speak more than one language enhances understanding of the

    educational and political systems, religious beliefs, contemporary issues, and value systems of

    other societies. In turn, learners of foreign languages gain a greater understanding and

    mastery of their native language, as well as an appreciation of their own cultural practices.

    It is quite apparent that knowledge of other languages can be a tremendous asset in the world

    today. Advances in technology and the growing global economy require greater interactions

    between countries. By speaking another language career opportunities are endless.

    Government, commerce, industry, education, law, medicine, media, social service, research

    and tourism are all areas in which skills and knowledge of another language and culture are

    essential.

    The importance of knowing another language cannot be emphasized enough. The ability to

    effectively communicate in another language facilitates understanding and cooperation among

    nations, expands opportunities, and allows for personal growth and development. Students of

    foreign languages find that their lives are greatly enriched because they better understand andappreciate the multicultural, multilingual world in which they work and live.
