You have had a class discussion on whether technology has really improved the quality of our lives. Now your teacher has asked you to write an essay on the subject of Technology is it a good or a bad thing? You should think about communication, travel and home life.It is no secret that technology is the bread and butter of present society, but there is a dark side / downside of it, as many disadvantages follow our dependence on it.

The comfort of life has waxed and waned during the years, but since the discovery of the electricity, science and technology have made a huge step forward. Improvements have been seen in all areas of life but responsibilities are often ignored.

Communication now seems a piece of cake, removing the need to wait for months for a letter to be delivered, making it almost instantaneous. The perks are obvious but what are we missing? Well, if we looked back at people a hundred years ago we could easily notice the natural way of talking in real life. We currently lack the skills required to keep a conversation going for more than 5 minutes in the absence of an LCD screen. We have lost the ability to use subtle voice inflexions.

Travel also has its ups and downs in terms of advancement. It is much easier to cover great distances in unnoticeable amounts of time but people are pushing it too far, as we have become lazy. We are too far gone / in a point of no return, if we need to take the car just to take out the garbage, as a limit should be self-imposed.

The last thing worth mentioning is home life, which may suffer the most. We escape reality in technology and neglect our close relations so much that we become estranged without realizing it until its too late.Overall, technology is a good thing, as long as its used wisely, because its dangers are many and we all are possible prey to this trap. But since the first step in avoiding a trap is knowing of its existence, we can all come back to our senses as it is never too late.YELLOW complex language
