2.0 Essay Based On The Three Articles

Nowadays, we often hear about the thing that occurred

involving the environment around us. Greenhouse effect is an effect

referred to as a type of slow-moving energy called infrared

radiation. heated caused by the radiation is absorbed by greenhouse

gases like water vapor, carbon dioxide, ozone and methane, which

slow the escape from the atmosphere. This phenomenon is what

scientists call the "greenhouse effect." Without it, scientists estimatethat the average temperature on Earth would be colder by

approximately 30 degrees Celsius (54 degrees Fahrenheit), far too

cold to sustain our current ecosystem.

The greenhouse effect is a naturally occuring

phenomenon that is responsible for trapping heat near the earth's

surface and keeping the planet warm. It is called the Greenhouse

effect because the way it works is similar to the way in which a green

house functions. In a greenhouse sunlight passes through the

transparent roof and walls and strikes the objects inside- plants,

flowerpots, tables, and so forth. These objects absorb energy from

sun, become warmer, and then give off energy themselves in the

form of heat. Only a little of this heat energy passes out through the

glass, much of it is "trapped" in the greenhouse, raising the

temperature inside. In some ways, the earth functions rather like a

greenhouse except on a much larger scale. Although the greenhouse

effect has only recently been in the news, is nothing new in th history

of our planet, has played major role in making life on earth possible.

Without the greenhouse effect, the earth would be too cold for living.

One of the man-made causes of the Green House effect is

deforestation. Deforestation increases the amount of carbon-dioxide

in the atmosphere. Also, due to the disappearance of trees,

photosythesis cannot take place. Deforestation causes of the

greenhouse effect. The levels of deforestation have increased by

about nine percent in recent times. Also, the burning of wood causes

it to decay, therefore releasing more carbon-dioxide into the

atmosphere. Greenhouse Gases also can be released into the

atmosphere due to the burning of fossil fuels, oil, coal and gas. These

materials are used increasingly and rampantly in Industries. Another

man-made causes of the increase in the Green house effect due to

the emission of such gases are any all electrical appliances. Even the

humble refrigerator in the house emits gases which contribute to the

Greenhouse effect. These gases are known as Chloroflourocarbons

(CFCs) and are used in refrigerators, aerosol cans, some foaming

agents in the packaging industry, fire extinguisher chemicals and

cleaners used in the electronic industry. Some processes of the

cement manufacturing industries also act as a cause towards theGreenhouse effect.

Other man-made processes that contribute and are a

cause to the Greenhouse effect are burning of gasoline, oil and coal.

Apart from these, some farming and land-use processes are a cause

of the Green house effect. Most factories also produce many gases

which last for a longer time in the atmosphere. These gases

contribute to the green-house effect and also the global warming on

the planet. These gases are not naturally available in the

atmosphere. Population growth also is a indirect contributer and one

of the causes of the Greenhouse effect. With the increase in

population, the needs and wants of the people increase. Therefore,

this increases the manufacturing processes as well as the industry

processes. This results in the increase of the release of industrial

gases which catalyse the green house effect. The increase in

population also results in the increase of agricultural processes. Most

man-made machines, like the automobile also contribute to the green

    house effect.

The greenhouse effect may be the most serious

environmental problem. The human race has ever experienced, for

this reason scientists around the world are working hard to acheive a

better understanding of the greenhouse effect, to predict the impact it

will have on earth, and to discover ways to control it. Global warming

can be expected to change the earth's climate dramatically and in a

relatively short time. The financial problem with this is that the

flooding will cause dams to be built and cities to be reconstructed. If

we do not act now, it may be too late. Up until about 150 years ago

the compostion of the earths atmosphere had remianed relatively

unchanged for several thousand years. Global warming could change

the atmosphere so much and so fast that all sorts of plants and

animals might soon be in danger os extinction. If this rise in sea

level was to occur many areas would be much more prone to

flooding, and generally much deeper floods would be experienced

than nowadays. Right now it is moving so that North America is going

to be close to the sun in the winter. The Cretaceous Periodoccurred

over 100 million years ago. While going through this cycle it will

change the climate of areas. Overall, the global temperature could

rise anywhere from 5 to 9 degrees over the next fifty years. What is

meant by the term, the greenhouse effect, is that the heat from the

sun comes into the Earth's atmosphere and cannot get out so it

    becomes trapped.

We can avoid this problems if we knows the right ways.

These actions actually will be significantly contribute to the next

generation that will came after us. The examples that we can do is

like reduce, reuse, an recycle. We can do that any place like school,

workplace, or in our community. Besides that, we must try to use lessheat and air conditioning, change a light bulb like compact fluorescent

light (CFL) that last 10 times longer than the incandescent bulbs.

Drive less and and drive smart also the brilliant actions. Buy energy-

efficient products, use less hot water, always save the electricity,

plant a tree, get a report card from our utility company, and

encourage others to conserve are the most important actions that will

    be change our world.
