FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSg WHAT DOES THE COST OF THE TRIP COVER?

All of the inclusions of the trip are listed on the panel on the left hand side of the itinerary page. This will outline how many nights overall are included, the number of meals, transport types (eg flights, coach, cruise details etc), where sightseeing is included and any other extras such as airport transfers and gratuities. You can then get more detailed information on the day to day itinerary by contacting us.

gWOW, THERE IS A LOT INCLUDED! HOW WILL WE FIT IT ALL IN?

You are in the very best hands with your arranged tour. We have tried to find the balance between seeing the sights and having time to appreciate your surroundings. We try to include two-night stays at every 2nd or 3rd city or town so you will have more free time to explore. While it would be nice to spend more time at every town or city, it isn’t possible as the tour would last for months!

g HOW MUCH MORE MONEY WILL I NEED WHILE I AM AWAY? While we try to cover most of the major costs, there are some costs that you will need to budget for. We would recommend budgeting around NZ$100-$150 per day for ‘spending money’ to cover any additional attractions that you may wish to visit as well as any meals and snacks you want to purchase.

g WE CERTAINLY VISIT LOTS OF PLACES, WILL THERE BE ANY FREE TIME? Absolutely! We try to make the best use of your time in each destination with the sightseeing that is included. During free time, Avalon, Globus & Cosmos offer a range of optional excursions, which are other popular attractions or experiences that aren’t included in the tour price. These are the only group trips that we offer, and they can be purchased with the tour director but there are thousands of other sights and attractions you may wish to visit. Once you are booked on a tour we can provide a list of the optional excursions we offer so you can budget for these.

g IS THERE A LOT OF WALKING INVOLVED? The included sightseeing will be a mix of walking and coach transportation. Some of the places we visit are thousands of years old and were around long before luxurious touring coaches, like the ones Globus and Cosmos use, so walking is the only option. Our walking tours are done at a moderate pace and you will often stop at points of interest so you are able to take pictures and hear more about them from our knowledgeable Local Guides & Tour Directors.

g WHAT IF I AM TRAVELLING ALONE? To give you an alternative to the single room supplement, we accept reservations on a “share” basis. We charge the basic price and match up singles of the same gender in twin-bedded rooms*. For single travellers who prefer the privacy of their own room, single accommodation can be reserved by purchasing the tour with the single supplement.

*If no other traveller book on “guaranteed share” basis the single supplement will apply.

g HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ON TOUR WITH ME? On average our tours take 38 passengers. Our special Escorted group will have around 15 – 20 New Zealand passengers and we will join up with other passengers once we join our main tour.

Our GFOB escorted tours generally operate during spring or autumn in the places that we visit, so we can make the most of the weather in our destinations. gPAYMENTS A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $1000 per person is due within 7 days of booking. Full payment must be received no later than 3-months prior to NZ departure date. Price is based on payment by cash, cheque or direct deposit. Credit Card payments will incur a processing fee.

gPRICES Prices are per person, twin share based on the cabin category/room type specified. Single Supplements are available. Share option is subject to being able to match same gender and cannot be guaranteed. Single supplement will be payable if a match cannot be found. Price includes air taxes known at time of production; these are subject to change and will be confirmed at time of payment.

gCANCELLATIONS & AMENDMENTS This package has been put together exclusively for GFOB escorted tours and any amendments to the itinerary will be subject to approval by the Globus family of brands and may affect price. Amendment fees may apply.

All cancellations must be made in writing to Globus family of brands. Deposit is non-refundable. From 4 months prior to departure the following cancellation penalties will apply for the land portion (Airline penalties will be advised at time of cancellation and may be up to 100% of ticket price): • 9 weeks prior to departure or earlier: 50% of total land price • 9 weeks prior to departure and onwards: 100% of total land price

gNOT INCLUDED Transport to/from Auckland airport; Passports; visas; vaccinations; tips to local city guides; laundry; telephone; mini-bar; alcohol (unless otherwise stated); beverages and food not on the standard/included menu (these extra items will be billed to you before leaving the hotel, ship or restaurant); optional excursions; porterage at airports and train stations; insurance of any kind; baggage fees; and all other items of personal nature.

gGROUP ESCORT The group escort will travel with the group from New Zealand to the main destination (unless specified otherwise). They will then leave the group with the professional Globus, Cosmos or Avalon Waterways Tour or Cruise Director. Operating this package as an escorted group is subject to a minimum of 15 passengers. If this number is not reached, the group may not be escorted from New Zealand and exclusive sightseeing excursions may not be offered (a refund for the excursion will be made).

gEMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS All passengers must provide emergency contact details prior to travel so that the Globus family of brands can get in touch with friends or family in case of an emergency.

gGENERAL Passengers must ensure they have a valid passport and any applicable visas or specific entry requirements for the countries visited. Travel Insurance is also strongly advised and is the responsibility of the traveller(s). Passengers travelling on packages incorporating the USA will need to complete the ESTA Visa Waiver program. Passengers travelling on packages incorporating Canada may need to complete the ETA Visa Waiver program. Passengers travelling on packages to Vietnam & Cambodia will require visas prior to travel.
