June through August camps and programs for children of all ages and interests.
Erie Day School’s Summer Camps and Educational Programs
for children provide enrichment for students who wish to
express their creativity, learn a new skill or participate in an
athletic experience with new and old friends.
Every session is held on campus at Erie Day School.
Campers can register for the Erie Day School Early Childhood and/or Summer Camp morning
and/or afternoon sessions. Please refer to specific descriptions further in the brochure for specific
dates and times.
All students attending two sequential Camps or the day-long Early Childhood Camp will need to
provide a brown bag lunch (supervision will be provided).
Each Early Childhood Camp tuition is due in advance and will be required in monthly install-
ments by May 31st, June 21st and July 19th.
Each weekly camp tuition is required for all participants by:

Please make checks payable to Erie Day School.
Parents/guardians are to pick-up camp participants at the time each session ends, unless the
camper is staying for two sessions. If participating in two sessions, parents/guardians will pick up
their child at the end of the second camp.
Early Childhood Camp for
Preschool, PreK and Kindergarten The Preschool, PreK and Kindergarten Early Childhood Camp at Erie Day School will accept learners
ages 3-6 and will be hosted by Miss Marigrace Hood. Social, cognitive and physical
development will be emphasized. Social etiquette, developmental appropriate learning activities and
large and fine motor skills development will receive attention in both an indoor and outdoor setting.
Our campus is sure to stimulate our youngest learners each day, 8:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m.,
as well! If you have questions about half-day camp, please email Miss Hood at
Lunch
Erie Day School’s Summer and Early Childhood Camps do not provide lunch if a child is attending a
morning and afternoon camp/session. Your child is welcome to pack a lunch and beverage and will
be supervised by their morning instructor from 11:30 a.m.—12:00 p.m. or 12:00—12:30 p.m.
Clay Camp
August 19—23
Play with clay is hosted by Ms. Emmett! Campers
will use ceramic pottery clay as well as create their
own clay to play with (no slime)! Get together with
your friends in the EDS Art Studio before the start
of school...any fired clay will be ready to glaze
when school starts. Grades 3-8.
Cookies, Cakes and Pies, Oh My! June 10—14
June 24—28
Children will be exploring the world of cookies
with Mrs. Kresge! We will be learning the basic de-
licious chocolate chip cookie recipe as well as creat-
ing sweet treats for all to enjoy! Chefs will take
Whoopie Pies and Brownies to the next level! Stu-
dents will also learn measurements and equiva-
lents, as well as basic techniques like folding and
rolling during the week. The best part...baked
items go home with campers at the end of each ses-
sion.
Grades 3—8. Ingredient cost is additional and will be
determined once all campers have registered.
Dinner’s on Me! July 15—19
The afternoon session will continue with Mrs. Hart-
man with more kitchen essentials, including meal
planning, table etiquette, and food presenta-
tion. The daily cooking technique will be used to
prepare a simple dinner entree.
*Rise and Shine, Breakfast Time! is strongly recom-
mended as a pre-requisite for the afternoon session.
Grades 5—8. Ingredient/supply cost is additional and
will be determined once all campers have registered.
Flower Power!
July 15—19
The power of spreading peace, love and kindness
not only brings beauty to our world, but also ignites
the beauty and happiness within ourselves. This
week, campers main focus will be to learn the im-
portance of being kind and respectful of others and
ourselves so that our future remains colorful and
bright. Campers will have the opportunity to learn
about historical figures who have inspired genera-
tions through peace and kindness. Campers will use
their own central theme to design art projects and tie-
dye clothing that remind us of the beauty that results
when peace, love and kindness are present in our
lives and also connect the beauty of flowers that grow
and flourish, just as friendships do, when we treat
them with love and kindness. Campers will not only
engage in activities that revolve around peace, love
an kindness, but also learn the tools necessary to con-
nect with their peers and create positive, long-lasting
friendships. Campers will be welcome to join Miss
Stewart from 8:30 a.m.—2:30 p.m. and will need to
bring a snack and lunch each day of camp. Dress
attire should be weather appropriate and casual.. Kin-
dergarten—Grade 4.
Food Chemistry July 22—26
Carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins form the building
blocks of your meals. Find out about their chemis-
try through cooking and baking with Mrs. Hartman!
We’ll also learn how to count calories, chemistry
style.
Grades 6—8. Ingredient/supply cost is additional and will
be determined once all campers have registered.
Food Fight! July 22—26
This camp hosted by Mrs. Hartman will use food
product development to incorporate food science into
the classroom with the goals of increasing student
interest and engagement in science and introducing
students to the countless academic and career oppor-
tunities in food science. Students will become food
scientists as they develop a new food product. Food
Fight! will introduce key concepts in food product
development and guide them through the product
development process.
Grades 6—8. Ingredient/supply cost is additional and will
be determined once all campers have registered.
Camp Descriptions All Camps are for students who will be entering the noted grade levels for the 2019-20 school year.
Math & Science/STEM Challenges August 12 – 16
Ms. Giannelli says it’s as easy as ABC! Students will
apply their morning math and science lessons to the
afternoon STEM Challenge activities. Through build-
ing and collaboration, students will bring to life the
math/science lessons and will design and create a
small, hands-on project to problem solve STEM chal-
lenges. Students must attend the morning session to
participate in the afternoon session. The afternoon
session is not mandatory.
Grades 1—4. Supply cost is additional and will be deter-
mined once all campers have registered.
Mix & Drip Painting
July 22—26
Morning and afternoon sessions
Campers will use a variety of painting techniques in
the EDS Art Studio under the guidance of Ms. Em-
mett. Acrylics, watercolors and marbling on paper
are just a few of the mediums that campers will use.
Grades 3-8.
Outdoor Explorer Camp!
June 24—28
Attention all outdoor enthusiasts! Join Miss Stewart
for a fun-filled week of exploring our beautiful sur-
roundings and neighboring Frontier Park. Campers
will spend the week learning the basics of how to use
nature to safely fulfill our basic needs for food, water
and shelter as well as using our creativity to design
nature-inspired arts and crafts. This week, campers
will join Miss Stewart in her love for the outdoors
from 8:30 a.m.—2:30 p.m. Each day campers will
begin in the classroom learning about outdoor safety,
the evolution of camping and strategies and skills
necessary to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. Each af-
ternoon will be filled with exploring and working
outside in nature to compose tools and crafts that
will endure the outdoor elements, and fulfill basic
needs in our outdoor environment. Campers will
need to bring lunch and snack Monday through
Thursday. On the last day of camp (Friday),
campers will use their knowledge of outdoor
cooking to make their own snack and lunch for
the day. Campers will need to wear ‘camping
attire’ or clothing that is comfortable and appro-
priate for outdoor weather and activity.
Grades 1-7.
Rise and Shine, Breakfast Time! July 15—19
Spend a week with Mrs. Hartman in the kitchen
learning basic cooking skills! A new cooking
technique will be introduced daily and used to
prepare a simple breakfast or brunch entrée. Oth-
er topics to be discussed include maintaining a
kitchen, such as proper storage, cleaning, and
meal planning for the week. Participants are en-
couraged to also register for Dinner’s on Me!
Camp in the afternoon.
Grades 5—8. Ingredient/supply cost is additional and
will be determined once all campers have registered.
Soccer Skills Camp June 17—21
Campers will get a ‘kick’ out of the Soccer Sum-
mer Skills Camp being hosted by Mrs. Gallo.
Your young athlete will gain the technical skills &
sport knowledge required for their next step into
soccer. This camp focuses on dribbling, passing,
shooting, and ball control. By the end of the camp
your child will have learned new life skills such
as teamwork and sportsmanship, made new
friends, and improved their sport skills preparing
them to play for the playground or league play!

Snack Attack July 8—12
This week students will push the limits on the
snack concept and prepare a variety of delicious,
and unique nibbles. This is not your mother’s PB&J!
Chefs will prepare a variety of bite-sized munchies
like chicken salad cups, veggie nachos, homemade
pita chips and more, under the guidance of Mrs.
Kresge. They will also be challenged to taste-test
homemade vs. store-bought snacks. The best part...
snacks go home with campers at the end of each
session.

Spanish Club June 10—13

Five weeks of Spanish instruction is planned with
Miss Herrera for Middle School students. Refresh
your language skills, gain reading fluency and en-
joy cultural experiences among friends. Join the
Spanish Club for one week or all five weeks! The
cost for the Club is $40 per week.
Grades 5—8.
SPARK (Sports, Play and Active Recreation for Kids)

August 19—23
Does your child like to run, jump, and play? If
so, then this is the summer camp for him/her!
SPARK is a nationally recognized program aimed
to counter heart disease and childhood obesity. The
SPARK program emphasizes health-related fitness
through cooperative games and activities that are
fun and developmentally appropriate for all ages.
The camp will be run by Mrs. Gallo, a certified
health and physical education teacher and a trained
SPARK instructor. So, tie up those laces kids and
get ready to move! Grades 1-8.
Summer Skills
August 19—23 This camp with Ms. Giannelli will provide your
child an opportunity to brush-up on basic math
skills, writing and reading skills and geography
basics. Students will discover and reinforce con-
cepts through games, art, music, cooperative
learning, literature and problem solving. Moti-
vating activities to enhance and combine your
child’s learning and physical activity.
