- PDR DEVICES HANDLE IUp USER PLANE- SCCP MPs HANDLE SIGNALING TOWARDS CN and other RNCs: SCCP/MTP3/NNISAAL/Q.AAL2- RANAP/RNSAP MP HANDLE SIGNALING TOWARDS CN : RANAP/RNSAP- Central MP: central UE register and central resource handlers. Core functions like the database, loading etc and a number of administrativeNCH functions. The fROs both for Core and NCH are allocated here. It also provides AAL2 connection control functionality.

To dynamically setup AAL2 connections upon request. Each connection is uniquelyidentified with the aal2 destination address, the aal2 path id (one path per VC), and theconnection id (CID). Up to 248 connections per AAL2 path. On Iub, 4 connections areneeded per UtranCell, and 2 connections per call. On Iu, each call requires one connection.
