This format can be used in a number of data management and display applications such as ArcView, AutoCAD or Surfer. Re- cording data electronically allows for immediate onsite data presentation or review. The 3-DISS reduces human error due to survey perform- ance, data transcription and data entry problems. Survey performance parameters such as detector height, detector spacing and scan speed are kept consistent. No more mis- communication errors associated with one person reading survey data and a second person transcribing. No more errors associated with data entry. With the 3-DISS it’s all automated. The 3-DISS can log scaler counts in user set 1-second in- tervals and the detector scan speed is adjustable. These settings allow the user to balance survey efficiency and minimum detectable activity (MDA). This system can result in labor savings of 70% to 90% when compared to conventional surveys.
