About the Project

• “IT CAREER START-UP” Project, NO 2017-1-RO01-KA102-036700 was funded by the European Commission, with a grant of 85.360 €.

• The beneficiaries of the project were the “Gheorghe Vranceanu” National College, Bacau (coordinating institution), “Roman Voda” National College, Roman, “Vasile Alecsandri” Theoretical High School, Sabaoani, and “Ion Borcea” Technical College, Buhusi.

• The project was implemented in the 2017-2018 period

• During the project, 64 high school students had the opportunity to gain IT and work experience by interning in European companies

Mission & ObjectivesMission of the Project

•Regional and European interinstitutional cooperation aimed at encouraging the pupils to pursue a career in computer science by modernizing and improving the quality of the services offered by the beneficiary schools, as well as enhancing the professional abilities of both students and teachers

Objectives of the project

•O1. The acquiring of web design skills by 64 students of Mathematics-Informatics profile from the beneficiary schools, after a 90-hour internship in a foreign country

•O2. The enhancement of professional abilities of teaching web design by 4 computer science teachers from the beneficiary schools, after 80 hours of job-shadowing in a foreign country aimed at developing a CDS centered on the development of proficiency

•O3. The gain of social, civic, intercultural and linguistic abilities by the 64 student participants and 4 teachers, after a first European mobility

•O4. The improvement of the capacity of managing internationalization strategies by 15 European educational institutions through the settling of agreements, procedures and exchange of good practices regarding teaching

• A brochure about the project’s results in 5 languages (Romanian, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Greek)

• 1 optional Web Design course

Conclusions

• The students gained new theoretical knowledge and practical skills on the topic of the Mobility they were in.

• All participants improved their English language proficiency during the stay.

• Additionally, they directly experienced the social and cultural life of the country, thus gaining a new perspective on their own educational and working future.

• The participants got to know the advantages and opportunities of international exchanges within the member-countries of the European Community and they experienced an improvement of their technical, linguistic, intercultural and social capabilities.
