Equinox Partners, along with theircolleagues at FMC International, havebeen producing marketing materials for

Allied Irish Bank and their subsidiary,Ark LIfe, for over 10 years, mainlyworking within the areas of Pensions,Life Assurance and Savings.

We, therefore, welcomed theopportunity of working with AIB’s jointventure partner, Hibernian Aviva, onvarious new projects at the start of 2009.

This guide to investment funds enablesfinancial advisers to clearly and succinctlyidentify appropriate investmentopportunities for their clients withinHibernian Aviva’s portfolio of funds.

The launch of the new guide wassupported by insightful materialsexplaining investor psychology andoffering advice on how to negotiate thevolatile terrain of the current ‘bear’, ordeclining, stockmarkets.

With their tax advantages and supportfrom employers, long-term pension fundsare still the best way for people to savefor their retirement.

The suite of brochures, written by FMCIand designed by Equinox Partners, wereaimed at both company employees (top

left), employers and their pension fundtrustees.

The brochures describe in layman’sterms the benefits of receiving andproviding company pensions, thestatutory obligations that employersand trustees must undertake and thewide range of options and investmentfund advice available from AIB.

The two slightly different styles ofbrochure ensured that there would beno confusion within the targetaudiences. The colourful designreflected the most recent graphicidentity seen within AIB Bank branchesthroughout Ireland.

AIB Private Bank with FMCI

AIB Bank is one of Ireland’s most established banking institutions. Having worked with their lifeassurance subsidiary for a considerable length of time, it was logical that we should be askedto prepare materials for marketing pension products to their High Net Worth customers.

Clean and sober-suited brochures and technical documents were supported by clear, easy tounderstand applications and instruction forms.

AIB is one of the largest banks in the Irish market. Equinox Partners, working with afinancial marketing consultancy, have been producing materials for their subsidiary,Ark LIfe, for over 10 years, mainly working within the areas of Pensions, Life Assuranceand Savings.

A national pensions campaign was needed to position AIB as a significant presence in thepension market. Equinox Partners initial concepts were eyecatching, but were too scary –‘as scary as not having a pension’. A sense of safety was introduced by the parachutistand carried through to the final campaign which featured newspaper and colourmagazine placements and billboard posters.

Pensions are about people – real people. The images ofbeautiful, aspirational models can turn off the cynical,younger target market – especially when it relates to therather unattractive subject of pensions.

As a development of our original ‘Big Drop’ parachutingcampaign, the use of real warts-and-all characters addedfascination – and reality.

The recommended use in weekend colour magazine pagesfurther differentiated AIB from their competitors.

Cater Allen Private Bank with FMCI

Cater Allen, subsequent to its takeover byAbbey National, was a revitalised by theintroduction of a whole new corporateimage generated by Equinox Partners. Theexisting company logo was rationalised andupdated and an up lifting ‘graphic sweep’was added to all marketing materials togive individuality and distinction.

This range of booklets were aimed atreintroducing the Bank to their customersand raising awareness within theircorporate, legal and accountancy clients.

Cater Allen Private Bank with FMCI

The new corporate image with up lifting‘graphic sweep’ was developed across theentire range of brochures, direct mailpieces and advertising. This madeCater Allen Bank widely recognised and oneof the most successful of the country’ssmall financial organisations.

A similar exercise targeted the all-importantIndependent Financial Adviser market withcolour coding to differentiate the materialsfor the customer from those instructing theFinancial Intermediary.

Butterfield Private Bank with FMCI

Targeted at Financial Intermediaries, these advertisements and insert leaflets were on thetheme of famous historical characters to illustrate the diverse nature of Butterfield’s bankingactivities – Brunel for pensions innovation, Henry VIII for divorce loans, Lewis Carroll forspecialist charity banking.

Also illustrated are advertisements for a series of specialist SIPP seminars held at the RoyalOpera House to introduce financial advisers to Butterfield’s pension banking services.FMCI organised the venue, with the supporting materials and handout folders artworked andproduced by Equinox Partners.

RZB with FMCI

Austrian Bank, Raiffeisen ZentralbankÖsterreich AG or RZB, specialises in theCentral Eastern European and Russianbanking arena.

RZB’s London office required an attractivepresentation folder and fact sheetsillustrating their services and to introduce aregular, large-format newsletter, circulatedwith copies of the Financial Times to theCity’s banking districts.

Inscape Offshore with FMCI

Equinox Partners and FMCI had previouslybeen working with Abbey National TreasuryInternational to set up the Abbey NationalOffshore’s brand and to generate theirmarketing materials.

This offshore, tax-saving division of AbbeyNational Offshore, required folder andbrochures to express the Abbey NationalOffshore heritage as well as presenting afresh new face to the market.

The launch of the new company wassupported by additional branded materials,display panels, posters and promotionalitems.

The Diskus/Accuhaler device has become the one of the world’s most widely used dispensers of powdered drugsto relieve asthma and other bronchial conditions for which they received The Queen’s Award for TechnologicalAchievement. The travelling educational exhibition and this supporting brochure on which it was based werecreated to celebrate this outstanding milestone.

Musical Fidelity Hi-Fi Amplifiers

The F-15 power amplifier and itscompanion F-22 pre-amplifierrepresented a radical departure fromtraditional machined enclosures intothe use of sculptural, interlocking aluminium extrusions.

The lozenge shape of the X-Series allowed for theeconomical use of a single aluminium casework extrusion,incorporating all the materials heat-dissipating propertiesas well as providing integral mountings for the circuitboards and other mechanical fixing points.

The current range of amplifiers from Musical Fidelity,designed with Equinox Partners, feature chunky all-metalconstruction and tube hybrid circuitry to produce highquality sound that regularly top the ‘Best-Buy’ lists in theaudiophile magazines.

PACKAGING – ELECTRONICS

Kinitron VOIPLEX Packaging

Specifically targeted at SMEs, Kinitron developed their Voice overthe Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone system in conjunction withImperial College and needed an all-in-one packaging system toallow the product to be marketedand sold through retailoutlets.

Equinox Partnersdeveloped the graphicimage for the ‘Voiplex’packaging and aneconomical tray systemfor protecting the fourphones and accompanyingelectronic equipment.

The final package featured afull colour sleeve andintegral carrying handle.Musical Fidelity V-Series

On-going miniaturisation ofelectronics has meant thatdevices have becomesmaller over the years.

In a departure from theirnormal cardboardpackaging, MF askedEquinox Partners togenerate concepts for thesehanging blister packs, as well as attractivegraphics and final artworks, for their latestrange of seven hi-fi ‘line conditioners’.

This Safety Hot Food & Drinks Carrier earnedClare Newton the accolade ‘Female Inventorof the Year’ from inventors’ champion & ‘MrWind-up Radio’, Trevor Baylis OBE.

The fully patented device is easily brandedfor identification and marketing purposesand can be used for carrying any hotbeverages, either as single or the new twocup version.
