At NFU Mutual, we want you to enjoy your equine lifestyle without any worry. That’s why we’ve put together cover designed with you and your horse in mind.

HORSE INSURANCEOur horse insurance can help you to protect your horse or pony and can include your personal liability cover.

• Loss of horse due to theft, straying or demise is covered (age 30 days to 19 years inclusive)

• Optional vet fees cover up to £5,000 per incident (age 30 days to 19 years inclusive) – following accident and for illness or disease that appears after 14 days from the start of your policy (standard excess of £145)

• Optional personal liability cover up to £2.5 million, which can be increased up to £10 million on request

• Optional equipment cover for theft or damage to your tack and saddles (£50 excess), items over £500 need to be specified; loss of use, horse-drawn vehicles and horse trailers can also be covered.

HORSEBOX INSURANCEOur horsebox insurance can help protect your motorised horsebox, leaving you free to concentrate on the things that matter most.

• Horse Road Rescue Service our specialist optional breakdown cover can arrange emergency transport and stabling of horses.

VETERAN HORSE INSURANCEWe realise that the needs of veteran horses are different and our insurance helps protect your veteran horse.

• Optional vet’s fees up to £3,000 vet’s fees cover for accidental, external injury (£145 excess applies)

• Optional personal liability cover up to £2.5 million, which can be increased up to £10 million on request

• Optional equipment cover for theft or damage to your tack and saddles (£50 excess), items over £500 need to be specified; horse-drawn vehicles and horse trailers can also be covered.

RIDER INSURANCEIf you don’t own a horse, our horse rider insurance offers you personal protection whether you ride often or occasionally.

• Personal liability cover up to £2.5 million, which can be increased up to £10 million on request

• Vet fees cover up to £2,000 for vet fees following an accident to any horse you borrow (standard excess of £145)

• Personal accident cover up to £20,000 for injuries resulting from riding accidents covered by our policy for riders aged 5 to 75. Cover for riders under 16 is limited to £5,000.
