ANATOMY AS ARTNATURE AS DESIGNERHow can we improve on nature? Only by opening the view more, to reveal the simple power of the horse’s limb in crisp,

clear acrylic.

No distraction, no decoration can improve on nature’s design.

Sometimes, as corporate awards or gifts, a company’s name can be engraved or

screened on the acrylic by special arrangement.

And if nature is to be a teacher, certain structures in the plastinates can be pointed out with labels.

Plastinates are available in three types:

1. “Plain” (no visible acrylic, although the tissue is impregnated;

2. “Thin” which emulates a radiograph and can be used in clinical settings as

a living x-ray, or in office settings as a display on an acrylic easel;

3. “Thick”, the most impressive, free-standing model, which catches light and acts like a piece of sculpture

holding an element of one of nature’s greatest creations, the horse.

In addition to actual tissue plastinates, as shown on these pages, framed prints and posters of single specimen or arrangements of comparative specimen can be printed for framing as gifts or lamination as teaching aids.
