Use instruction: 1. Background: on wood normally light grinding is enough; on polyester- or two component primer the surface must be ground before application. on metal the surface must be sand-blasted and the primer or plastering must be used within 2 hours to prevent an oxidation of the surface.. 2. Consider the temperature of the support. It must be higher than the dew point to prevent a condensation of moisture between the layers. 3. Work in a shadowy area, protected from rain or dew, in good ventilated rooms and at temperatures above 15°C. 4. Use fresh products on jellied material resp. fresh products on hardened material which was ground before. Normally hardening and post-curing isn’t necessary.
Storage recommendation: At proper storage the shelf life of epoxy resin and the corresponding hardener is
2 years, if both are stored in sealed original containers, in dry and cool rooms
Precautions whilst handling: Read the safety data sheet and comply with regulations referring work
protection and disposal.

EC 152/W 152 HR – epoxy resin – epoxy hardener
EC 152/W 152 MR – epoxy resin – epoxy hardener
Description
Resin type: Epoxy resin
Description: High modular, unfilled epoxy system with different pot life. The hardeners are mixable amongst each other, whereby the reactions times
can be adapted to the demand. Working at room temperature. Tempering at 50 – 60°C increases the good characteristics additionally. A further stabilization at higher temperatures improves the thermal resistance of the components.
Application: High quality composite parts of small till medium size. Production of components for boats, model aircrafts, racing cars and for sport components, too.
Process: Hand laminate for glass-, carbon- or Kevlar fabric. Hardening at room temperature. The hardener can be mixed in all ratio, to adapt the reactivity of
the system to the specific requirements. Compared with common systems EC
152 offers a high ability for post-curing with a moderate heat transfer.
W 152 HR: high reactivity for small components or as accelerator for other hardeners.
W 152 MR: medium reactivity standard hardener
W 152 LR: for medium and large components (s.a. EC152/W152LR)
W 152 XLR: for large components (s.a. EC152/W152XLR)

Use instruction: Check and if necessary homogenize the components before use. Add the corresponding
quantity hardener and resin and mix carefully. An extremely good mixing will be achieved by „repotting“. Thereby the resin/hardener mixture is stirred carefully, filled in a clean mixing vessel and stirred once again. Whilst preparation of the surface (mould resp. model) please adhere to the separating agent data sheet.
Hardening / post-curing: Post-curing is always recommended at RT hardening systems, to stabilize the
component on the one hand and to achieve the best mechanical characteristics on the other hand. Although this system already reaches a higher thermal resistance at room temperature than the common systems, it is post-cured at a temperature of around 60°C and so it’s possible to achieve a good thermal resistance. Hardening and post-curing should be made before use to give the necessary thermal resistance to the mould. Whilst post-curing the component should heat step by step around 10°C/h. The user should evaluate the best conditions for hardening resp. post-curing depending on the size and shape of the component. At bit components you should reduce the thermal gradient and increase the post-curing time. At thin layers and composites make post-curing on a clamping device.
Storage recommendation: At proper storage the shelf life of epoxy resin and the corresponding hardener
is 2 years, if both are stored in sealed original containers, in dry and cool rooms. Since the hardeners are moisture sensitive it’s recommended to close each package again at once after use.
Precautions whilst handling: Read the safety data sheet and comply with regulations referring work
protection and disposal.

Hardening / Post-curing: Post-curing is always recommended at RT hardening systems to stabilize the
component on the one hand and to achieve the best mechanical characteristics on the other hand. This is necessary when the component is used at high temperatures. The level of the temperature and the indicated post-curing time refer to standard sample sizes. Depending on size and shape of the component the user should appreciate the best conditions for hardening resp. post-curing. At large components the thermal gradient should be reduced and the post-curing time increased. At thin layers and composites make the post-curing on a clamping device. As general guidance to reduce the risk of thermal deformation we recommend to make the post-curing as follows: In moulds: 24 h RT + 6 h 40°C + 6 h 50°C + 6 h 60°C + 12 h 70°C Outside the mould but in the clamping device: 7 days RT + 6 h 50°C + 6 h 60°C + 12 h 70°C. The glass transition temperature under these conditions is near the max. Tg.
Storage recommendation: At proper storage the shelf life of epoxy resin and the corresponding hardener
is 2 years, if both are stored in sealed original containers, in dry and cool rooms. Since the hardeners are moisture sensitive, it’s recommended to close each package again at once after use.

IO-00-00 = Elantas Camattini´s test method; if possible the international method is mentioned. RT = temperature in laboratory (23±2°C) (*) at bigger quantities the pot time shortens and the exothermic temperature increases (**) the bracket means about (***) the max. working temperature is used based on laboratory information, depending on the hardening conditions as well as the added materials. Further information you will find under the passage post-curing.
Usage instruction: Check and if necessary homogenize the components before use.
Add the corresponding quantity hardener to the resin, mix carefully and prevent thereby air pockets (bubbles). A very good mixture will be reached by “repotting”. Thereby the resin/hardener mixture is stirred carefully, filled in a clean mixing vessel and stirred once again.
Hardening / tempering: Post-curing (tempering) is always recommended at RT hardening systems, to
stabilize the components and to achieve the very best characteristics. Whilst post-curing the temperature should increase by 10°C per hour. After this cool the part slowly.
Depending on size and shape of the component the user should appreciate the best conditions for hardening resp. post-curing. At large components the thermal gradient should be reduced and the post-curing time increased. At thin layers and composites make the post-curing on a clamping device.

Storage recommendation: Epoxy resins can be stored for 2 and its hardeners for 1 year in originally
closed containers at a cool , dry place. Since hardeners are very moisture-sensitive, it’s recommended to close the package at once after each use very firmly.
Precautions whilst handling: Read the safety data sheet and comply with regulations referring work
protection and disposal.
All information contained in this data sheet are based on our technical and scientific knowledge, but buyer and user should make their own trials with our products under their own use conditions.
