Your Search committee, Sandee Ragl, Art McCamey, Mike Quinn, Ande Bauzenberger,

Bill Baio, Bob Lumpp and Ron Traynor are working very hard for you.

Please pray this prayer for them.

Gracious God,

Call on them with your grace and renew them daily in peace and hope as they

work to call a Rector.

May they count on the prayers of all members of this community of faith to up hold them.

Just as we trust in your Spirit to guide them.

Amen

We are pleased to announce that Jim Lammie has accepted the position of

Vestry member filling the vacant position formerly held by Lauren

Patterson. His tenure will be effective November 17. Jim has been an

active member of our Parish since his arrival by singing in the choir and

serving on the Altar. Jim has been involved in work days at the church as

well as spending time working at St. Georges each year. He is also the

gentleman who comes early to make coffee each Sunday!

We are grateful to Jim for his dedication and willingness to serve out this

term during this most important time in the life of our church.

Here are two ways you can help:

1. Donate a new, unused sweatshirt jacket (a hoodie) and put it in the

box in the Narthex…

It must be a full zip-front, a solid color, no printing, any child’s size

S, M, L, XL, & S Adult

You can make a monetary donation and we’ll shop for you.

*Please make checks payable to Church of the Advent noted for

Crystal Lake Elementary.

Our Annual Hoodie Drive Begins

For

Crystal Lake Elementary Students

Coordinated by the Missions & Outreach Ministry Team

Help Children in Need Stay Warm!

Of the 613 students at Crystal Lake Elementary School

just down the road from us, over 220 of them are economically disadvantaged.

Unfortunately, some children do not have a jacket of

any kind…thankfully most days in Florida a jacket is not necessary.

In Stuart and Palm City, it may surprise you to know that it is normal to have an

average of 60 days below 55º during the fall months. Therefore the school office

tries to keep a supply of sweatshirt jackets that zip up the front… (the kids call them

“hoodies”) that can be given to a needy student. Sadly the school budget doesn’t

provide money to allocate for hoodies…

Won’t you help keep a child warm this winter?

Help us share God’s love through a warm hoodie jacket

The Thanksgiving Food & Turkey Drive

Starting Oct. 28th, bring non-perishable food items to the

Thanksgiving Food Drive Collection Box located in the Narthex. Here are some suggested items of need: Canned goods, beans, rice,

bread, pasta, stuffing mix, canned pumpkin, juices, cereal, etc… Please designate any monetary donations with “Thanksgiving Food Drive” which will be used to purchase turkeys for families in need

Donations will be delivered to House of Hope & LAHIA

Make checks payable to Church of the Advent. Coordinated by the

Mission & Outreach Ministry Team
