he FBM KLCI index lost 12.49 points or 0.75% on Thursday. The Finance Index fell 0.45% to 14380.34 points, the Properties Index dropped 0.17% to 1164.42 points and the Plantation Index down 0.96% to 7548.13 points. The market traded within a range of 11.30 points be-tween an intra-day high of 1653.05 and a low of 1641.75 during the session.

Actively traded stocks include HHHCORP, VIVOCOM, SGB-PA, SKPETRO, MTOUCHE, AAX-WA, VIVOCOM-WB, AAX, RA and GBGAQRS-WA. Trading volume decreased to 1399.83 mil shares worth RM1622.22 mil as compared to Wednesday’s 1699.11 mil shares worth RM2134.43 mil.

Leading Movers were BAT (+150 sen to RM48.30), SKPETRO (+3 sen to RM1.62), TENAGA (+2 sen to RM14.10), KLCC (+1 sen to RM7.25) and TM (+0 sen to RM6.65). Lagging Movers were GENM (-16 sen to RM4.38), PPB (-46 sen to RM15.64), IOICORP (-12 sen to RM4.27), ASTRO (-7 sen to RM2.66) and UMW (-11 sen to RM6.34). Market breadth was negative with 332 gainers as compared to 415 losers.

The KLCI failed to maintain in positive territory and closed lower at 1645.09 points amid overnight losses in US market. Market sentiment was muted on concern over weakening ringgit despite surge in oil prices.
