The FBM KLCI index lost 3.66 points or 0.22% on Tuesday. The Finance Index fell 0.42% to 14042.4 points, the Properties Index dropped 0.42% to 1143.83 points and the Plantation Index down 0.16% to 7546.65 points. The market traded within a range of 10.21 points be-tween an intra-day high of 1629.69 and a low of 1619.48 during the session.

Actively traded stocks include CAP, VIVOCOM, AIRASIA, LKL, SKPETRO, SUMATEC, DRBHCOMC19, MAYBANK, TRIVE and VIVOCOM-WB. Trading volume decreased to 1467.38 mil shares worth RM1616.53 mil as compared to Monday’s 1484.18 mil shares worth RM1209.83 mil.

Leading Movers were ASTRO (+8 sen to RM2.79), AXIATA (+5 sen to RM5.55), HLFG (+12 sen to RM14.58), PPB (+12 sen to RM16.08) and PETGAS (+16 sen to RM21.56). Lagging Movers were UMW (-26 sen to RM5.28), SKPETRO (-5 sen to RM1.50), MAYBANK (-16 sen to RM8.00), MISC (-12 sen to RM7.48) and GENTING (-12 sen to RM8.04). Market breadth was negative with 278 gainers as compared to 486 losers.

The KLCI closed lower at 1626.11 points amid overnight losses in US market. The perform-ance our local bourse was bogged down by retreat in oil prices and ringgit.
