The social process of De-colonization is of more importance than the political1. Rediscovery and Recovery - Awareness to the illegality of what has happened

2. Mourning- The ability and time to lament has to be allowed

3.Dreaming -a whole panorama of possibilities where debate, consultation, and building dreams on further dreams. a chance to explore our own culture

4. Commitment -ability to weigh our own voices rather than counting votes or dodging bullets. From this a commitment to a single direction.

5.Action- can only happen if consensus of a commitment is reached by the 4th phase. It may mean a call to action or a call to arms. But the decolonization environment has changed so much in more recent times

The unfinished business of “Decolonizing”

•Claim our Land•Testimonies thru oral evidence•continued story telling•celebrating the fact we are still here•remembering our past and how we responded to that time•Indigenizing - meaning we draw on our traditions•Intervening - stepping up to the plate•revitalize our language and lifeways•connecting to our families in other parts of the country•Gendering the Environment to its proper element•i.e: water as a feminine element•reframing for greater control•Sharing of knowledge
