• 1889 — Formalized as US Uniformed Service of MHS

Instead, use this slide to incorporate the 5 pillars."Know that each of these agencies, when they hire a USPHS Commissioned Officer, that position must meet one of the following criteria:1) Serves needs of vulnerable or medically underserved populations2) satisfies significant unmet need to serve in hardship locations or difficult to fill positions3) requires 24/7 availability or rapid deployment capabilities4) requires regular interactions with other uniformed services5) cannot be filled without the Commissioned Corps to address an important public health need
